      What's the bioenergetic counter argument to all the rodent model studies suggesting that calorie restriction extends lifespan. Off the top of my head I'd say I bet they are feeding them pufa laden > 20 percent fat diets but what does everyone else think?

          @springsnow haiduts arguments are that most of the benefit comes from restricting inflammatory amino acids like methionine. This seems to be in line with studies that show all the benefits of calorie restriction just with protein restriction.
