      Assuming all you care about is condensed milk based protein, you could get a powder for about the same price per gram while avoiding the PUFA, microplastic leaching lining, citrates, and and all the other junk in there. It would be just as shelf stable, too. Back when I took a whey supp I would simply wash a scoop down with a gulp of water.

        @engineer The muscle milk is using high oleic sunflower oil, so that's mostly MUFA. Its still probably oxidized just the same, but at least its not PUFA I guess.

          @sphagnum I do in fact have 10 pounds of whey isolate in two flavors, but the trouble has been making it taste good enough and the long prep time compared to the premade options. Something I did try was to make a half gallon ahead of time and then pour it in milk when needed. However, that still felt tiring after a while (I am a very lazy engineer), so if you have any other ideas I'm all ears because powder is about $1.1 per 30g while premade is $1.67. It's also almost completely fat free and the milk provides carbs too for that Peaty goodness.

            @engineer idk If you get it there but the natural factors grass fed whey with no flavourings tastes ace in milk. you can just add sugar or whatever for flavour and/or cocoa powder or whatever. actual good quality plain whey tasted pretty good

              @sunsunsun hilarious because factors was the first protein powder I ever had and it tasted like GARBO and I seriously swore off protein powders for years, has it gotten that much better?

                @engineer I only tried it recently not before and it is a high quality product. I doubt they started out by selling a bad product so maybe you just dont like whey protein even If it is good quality. Ive had bad whey protein before and it is really bad. nf whey that I mention is pleasant and I actually like drinking it

                  @sunsunsun ok, that must be a different factors protein, the one I had looked totally different. if this one is unflavored then that could work really well because I could custom craft whatever flavor I wanted.

                    What method were you using to make it that you felt it was tiring? I know a lot of people use the shaker bottles designed for such shakes. You could also use a blender I suppose. I know they generally don’t mix easily, though, which is why I quickly went the route of putting the powder directly in my mouth and washing it down. You could wash it down with, and then enjoy by itself, a tall glass of sweetened milk. That’s my idea for the best balance between low effort and good taste while avoiding all the garbage ingredients.

                        Just tried the powder rawdog method (pour a scoop in a cup and take it) and it works great! I think I tried this one years ago but didn't like it for some reason. Goodbye PUFA protein shakes (except for when traveling)

                        Also, it turns out there are two protein shakes at Costco without PUFAs: Super Coffee and Nurri. I think the Super Coffee looks good because it uses MCT oil and has caffeine (I don't drink coffee or tea otherwise) and Nurri uses cream for fat.
