What's the general consensus here on Avocado consumption, Yes or no.
I'm thinking average 230g avocado a couple a times a week bearing in mind the Calories -

@Not_James_Bond The unsaturated fat content is relatively high. Iβd be wary of them if youβre concerned about the littlest bit of PUFAs or if have a disdain for unsaturated fats in general.
-
@Svet I eat sardines once in a while, which have a decent amount of PUFA, same with eggs. The fact that along with that PUFA avocados have 20g of MUFA is especially concerning. And that's without mentioning the allerginicity
-
@Svet Thanks, Yeah I believe they are high in MUFA, a small amount of PUFA and also some saturated fat, which is good, plus Oleic acid
-
@Not_James_Bond A whole 4 grams of PUFA in a single avocado though. Plus 20g of unhealthy, easily oxidizable MUFA along with it. Definitely 'a couple times a week' would be unwise imo

Did RP change his mind about MUFAs being neutral?

@S-Holmes Haidut said in a post on RP forum;
Ray has said that MUFA is more or less neutral when it comes to health effects but since it is unsaturated it should probably be avoided when possible, unless it comes from olive oil.Olive oil also contain oleic acid like avocado, one or two a week hopefully not a big deal as long as calories taken into account

@Not_James_Bond Ray said PUFA was bad though, and avocados have plenty.

I've never had anything with avocado that didn't taste better with butter
-
@AltarandThrone Yeah I don't even understand the appeal of it. I get enough fat as it is. It has negligible micronutrients. I would much rather eat a cherimoya and some cheese than eat that rancid stuff
-
@AltarandThrone Yep, love my butter, love my Coconut oil too

@Not_James_Bond @CO3
I've thrown thin butter slices on my chipotle bowl with added sugar and salt, and it tastes so good. -
"Not all fruits, of course, are perfectly safe--avocados, for example, contain so much unsaturated fat that they can be carcinogenic and hepatotoxic."
