What I'm currently doing
- 6 tbsp Gelatin per day
- 75 mcg T4
- Aggressive Strength Testosterone Booster (1 month of this almost doubled my T levels, from 300 to 590)
- Dandelion + Chamomile tea
-
@GreekDemiGod
What is agressive strength T booster? -
@Mr-X It's a brand name, that based on my research, is one of the few legit ones.

I saw this post by Danny Roddy and it perfectly matches my symptoms. Hopefully getting the dose right and bringing my temps and pulse to optimal levels solves them.

*Hypoglycemia, steatorrhea (fat malabsorption), and gynecomastia are three of the most common liver problems associated with hypothyroidism that I know of. The right dose of thyroid hormone has been used to correct all three problems. Along with all the typical markers of hypothyroidism (e.g., pulse, temperature, cholesterol), the hormone prolactin has been used to assess the severity of liver disease.

Motility is still low, constipation still present. I have to take Magnesium Oxide and Cascara daily to get the bowels moving. I've also been eating gelatin regularly (6 tbsp/ day), it does feel soothing to my digestive tract, but don't feel digestive symptom improvements from it. Helps my sleep, though.
I also started taking TUDCA, Glutamine again. I've used them in the past on and off.
Also drinking dandelion tea regularly (for liver/ bile support) -
Bowel movements regularity is now better. And I’m no longer using Mag. Oxide or Cascara Sagrada as I ran out.
Coffee and cigarettes are useful in triggering a BM.
But my chronic bloating hasn’t much improved.
I’m at a loss on what to try next for digestion. -
@GreekDemiGod What does your diet look like? Are your pulse and temp going up? Digestion and motility are highly dependent on thyroid function
-
What is your activity levels like? I’ve noticed walking regularly and/or sprinting tend to speed up digestion.
Also I pretty heavily relied upon nicotine for a while which tended to greatly speed up bowels and made my bloating disappear completely, it gave me a very flat stomach that felt great and it was a very similar feeling to thyroid in that regard. Not so similar to thyroid as it made me manic even in smaller doses. Vitamin D tends to eliminate bloating when taken orally but also makes me feel weird when I take it for too long so I only reserve it for when I know I need it. Thyroid has eliminated bloating for me as well but it’s hard to find the right dose. When I’ve eaten liver in the past it has had the same effect but also comes with other bad side effects at higher doses.
I’d say nicotine is a no go long term solution that may be helpful in the short term.
I’m very serious about sprinting though. It has been the most beneficial to my health over any food or supplement.
That’s just my experience with things in terms of digestion
-
@Jakeandpace Same here, sprinting does something magical to the body.
-
Started tracking my daily bowel movements. It has been a full month where I’ve had at least 2 bowel movements daily.
I’m currently not taking any helpers, like laxatives(Cascara) or Magnesium, which I’ve taken in the past regularly.
The only helpers I take are coffee and some cigarettes (2-4 per day) that help in triggering a bowel movement. So I guess that’s progress.
The stool is not very well formed, so I would say there is some inflammation present.
I still get some dandruff, dermatitis when consuming starch/ wheat and A1 dairy regularly. -

I’ve written in my other thread (Thyroid log).
Temps are great now.
Improving thyroid/ temps hasn’t brought me much digestive benefits to be honest.Walking indeed after meals helps a lot, but I don’t do that regularly.

Realized I need to focus on solving the intestinal inflammation. Do an elimination diet and really identify foods that I don’t tolerate well.
I also have a deviated septum and one of my nostrils clogged, which is affecting my sleep.
Today I woke up feeling better, had 3 bowel movements by 12PM. Quit starch for a few days.
And I’m breathing better today. -

I've also took a B1, B6, B12 complex for a month. It improved some neurological symptoms that I've had.
You lack B2. Mainly. You could have neuro-problems if you don't care. Interaction.
B2 serves as prebiotic too.
Riboflavin and high thiamin
Does thiamine deplete riboflavin?
Klopp, Abels, and Rhoads found a transitory increase in riboflavin excretion in men treated with large doses of thiamine. Pro- longed administration of thiamine, however, failed to produce any clinical evidence of riboflavin deficiency.

=> Mostlylurking has seen side effects when taking high dose Thiamin (B1) without supplementing riboflavin (B2). Not necessarily every day. Marked temporary increase of riboflavin excretion was not observed by all subjects (period not above 8 days).
Note: Besides B1, energy is enhanced by B2 (20%) and B3 (80%) (source: RP). -

And I’m breathing better today. You may want to know that there is the "one-airway-theory" or something called like this. Essentially, it says all your mucosa are connected. Bad digestion causes asthma and bronchitis and vice versa. Intestinal inflammation causes inflammated sinus mucosa and vice versa.
That being known, it's still possible that your demigod facial features were prevented from fully developing and your septum was caught in too little space for its original design because of underdevelopment of the width and length of your maxilla. In which case, confirm whether your swallowing technique is right and proper (no touching of the teeth with your tongue, ever) or invest in (dynamic) orthodontics and logopedics lessons first, before any nasal surgery. And ascertain that your surgeon will definitely stitch back any cartilage as reinforcement on the opposite side of where he/she removed it from instead of discarding it. This will of course transform a 15-20 minutes surgery into a thorough c. 1.5hrs surgery. -
Major realisation: I realised that Taurine, that I was religiously taking since Peating, is having negative side effects for me.
It makes me more depressed, anhedonic, lowers my libido, causes my dick to not function.
I suspect too much GABA activation. Is a pity because I thought it has no side defects and it’s one of the most beneficial compounds to take.
I’m going to stop using it.Last week, I took like 5/6 grams/ day.

Less is more.
https://lowtoxinforum.com/threads/what-brand-of-taurine-is-the-best.44704/post-758680 - Currently I use size 1 caps after the great gelatin shortage during the rona times. One at a time and allowing it to pass, or one only. Depends what's going on in the day for me.
Definitively take a break from that amount. Just don't be disheartened to try again if you had a benefit from it in the beginning.
-
I feel better after getting off Taurine. More clear-headed, no longer have that “drunk”, high GABA feeling.
Curcumin used in my meals seems to have a big anti-inflammatory effect in my gut. I’ve read on ChatGPT how it helps heal the gut lining.
Current approach right now is to eat an anti-inflammatory diet that helps my gut heal and regenerate. That is for me: no gluten and no commercial dairy products, and low fodmap.
Will also be looking into taking Zinc and Magnesium.I no longer believe total avoidance is the way. Carnivore, zero starch peating are not the way to heal the gut. The goal should be to slowly rebuild the microbiome and heal the gut lining.
Healing the gut lining, fixing the leaky gut will ensure endotoxin no longer exerts its harmful effects.I also believe that refined sugar, and sugary drinks are harmful in a state of dysbiosis and leaky gut. I’m talking about Coca Cola.

When you load up on gaba and it can actually convert into glutamate and cause excitotoxicty which is probably the reason why you felt had those symptoms when gaba is working it doesn't cause those symptoms. Also taurine is high in sulfur and this excess sulfite cause glutamate issues too.
"High taurine may affect body temperature. High taurine, along with high levels of alanine and serine, have been implicated in lowering body temperature. The mechanism by which this temperature lowering effect occurs is not well defined. Theories put forth include the inhibitory impact of high taurine on the hypothalamus, on inhibitory properties that may play a positive role in seizure regulation, or because high taurine may inhibit GABA transport. It is also possible that hydrogen sulfide, which is generated from high taurine, is the pathway by which it lowers body temperature. High levels of taurine can put pressure on the remainder of the transulfuration pathway, creating a need for Molybdenum and B12 in order to process toxic sulfur groups. "

Rant: Ever since I got into peating (2019) I've been somehow memed into lowering my protein intake, after reading on the old forum how too much protein is thyroid supressive, too much cysteine, tryptophan.
Before 2019:
So before Peating, I was lifting weights with the purpose of putting on serious muscle. I was averaging about 160-170g of protein per day. And I was putting on muscle just fine, progressing with my workouts.2019: Started experimenting with Keto, then Carnivore. Lost a lot of weight/ muscle. Learned that my body needs carbs to bulk.
2019 autumn: Started peating. It's been 5 years. I averaged probably 120g of protein. That's not a small amount by any means, but still significantly lower than I was averaging before.
The result: I stalled with my workouts and didn't progress in the gym for years.
I know some of you will tell me that you can gain maximal muscle on just 100g of protein, but for me, it doesn't seem to be the case. My recovery is much better on higher protein. And high carbs evidently.
But I recover much better on 3300 calories and 170g protein than 3300 calories and 120g of protein, for example.Morale: I'm going back to a higher protein intake to maximize muscle gains.
Carb: protein ratio will still remain higher than 2:1. -
@GreekDemiGod I agree the peatarian idea of protein intake is too low . I have a suspicion the lowered phosphorus intake on peatarian style is not ideal either, I posted a thread about it. im averaging about 180g protein, 50-80g fat, and 350-400g carbs now. I don't really measure everyday because chronometer isn't accurate and it is annoying to keep track of. some days I have like half a bottle of honey so my carbs can go way higher.
