A very positive experience with pregnenolone
-
Maybe this is a dumb question but how can it cause weight gain? Is it causing water retention or driving up appetite?
I read so many posts of people saying it caused them to gain weight but I don't understand the mechanism.

@Insomniac I think Ray mentioned something about the new method (since 2013) producing these results. It's unforunate. It is definitely not related to eating more food, in fact you can be eating squat and gaining weight.
-
@dt I also remember he said people were getting side effects that could only be explained by impurities.
But if your gaining weight and not eating any more than it should be water weight and come off pretty quick. I always cross my fingers and hope weight gain is mostly water so not so bad.

Would you be referring to the questionable pregnenolone acetate perhaps? For example, many products won't divulge the actual form they use, making consideration of source paramount imo.

@BioEclectic What I remember Ray saying is that he stopped recommending pregnenolone because there was none with the purity he used originally.
I doubt supplements are as pure as pharmaceuticals. He purchased a kilo of pregnenolone from some pharma company and ate the whole thing in 1 year. But he said he no longer took it because he didn't have confidence in what was currently available.

@Serotoninskeptic He just turned 10..

@milkandhoney Why give it to him when hes so young? I would focus on giving your kids high quality food and a non-toxic environment but giving hormones to a little kid seems a little risky.

@Insomniac It was water weight probably but it did not go off quick, it lingered for months and only when I intervened with what I wrote here did it subside:

@Serotoninskeptic
Thanks for your concern. To be honest, I’ve been pretty desperate. I have a husband who leans carnivore (yet overweight) who basically sees sugar as evil which makes a stressful eating environment at home. I did all the wrong things since my son’s birth which led to his obesity. Thankfully I found Peat when my son turned six, yet it’s been so complicated to figure out how to help right the ship of his health. I’ve learned a lot a long the way, but definitely regret the pregnenolone.Thanks @dt

@milkandhoney A husband who fears sugar is no husband at all
