I wonder if I may ask what you, or your global moderators will be doing about offensive content.
What I mean, is there any software that will not allow offensive words to be posted and also if members who post offensive comments or insults will be warned or given a three strikes policy.
I know censorship is frowned on but in order for this forum to grow interactions it would at least appear a safer space to do so.
Many RPF users, like I am are of an age where language can appear confrontational and unnecessary.

@Not_James_Bond Thanks for joining. Right now, I'm trying to take a light touch moderation policy. No violent threats are permitted and I try to quarantine lower quality threads and posts to "The Junkyard" but beyond that I hope people self-moderate and it becomes more of a cultural more to act with poise and mutual respect. So far, the trend has been positive and that kind of behavior has been reduced. I hope that it continues that way without explicit intervention. I'm open to revisiting this policy based upon what happens in the future and feedback from forum members.

@brad Hi Brad, I suggest that the name "junkyard" is sub-optimal and/or bad, i suggest you change it to another name that remains more factual if it's a category that you put posts that you think are not related to other categories
"Quality" is determined by the interest and/or usefulness that people find in it

@Truth Understandable. It's basically a miscellaneous board with threads of questionable quality. I think it's akin to a junkyard where there is some good and some bad depending on how much you like to dig. If you have another proposal for a name let me know.

Hi everyone,
I was a member of raypeatforum.com but hadn't logged on in a while, I was initially surprised to see the current state of the forum, but perhaps it was bound to happen.
Anyway, it's great to find this place. I love the forum layout, especially that we have topics for Philosophy, Consciousness etc. I think Ray would be happy to see this place.
