My mother and sister think I have an eating disorder...
-
So basically as the title says my family think I have an eating disorder due to the amount of times I tinker and experiment with my diet. They worry about the lack of variety in the food I eat. I don't want them to be worried about me. I've told them about Ray Peat before and why I eat some of the things I eat but maybe it seems too far from the normal that they are used too. Anyone else have a similar experience to this? How should I approach this situation? I should also note that the experimenting has led me to being and feeling healthier so I can't understand why they are so concerned.

What do you eat?
-
@NNight 5% Beef, Shellfish, Orange Juice, Dates, Coffee, Honey, Cheese and Butter(no milk ATM), Carrots, Eggs, Coconut oil and the occasional Liver.

The standard answer would be that your diet might be healthier than what you used to eat but is not necessarily optimal as is.
Absolutely no starches nor greens? This seems like a typical "Ray Peat diet".
Don't fall in the "the more atypical my diet is, the more it will be healthy" mentality (I can be a victim of it, I was at least).
You didn't ask that I judge your diet sorry, but adapting your diet and making it more "normal" seems like the only solution. And I am not talking about eating fried PUFA
Are you french?

Hi,
We need more information to evaluate the situation.
The number of calories depends on your age and how much your exercise (physical exercice).
The type of amino acids won't be the same if you are a teen or 25 years old.
Confirm the digestion is optimal and you eat nearly everything (no exclusive diet).
When giving the menu we need to know how much:- vegetables: 2/3 of the plate.
- one part of "sugars". Which kind? No need to weight at the beginning, if no problem.
Note: See Jessie Inaupsché to dress your sugars (nicknamed Glucose Goddess) in order to avoid a insulin spike and to make fat in the adipocytes. I can give a link if interested. - one part of protein.
If you don't eat enough protein, you are going to lose muscles and the metabolism will slow down.
0.8 gr protein per Kg body mass is required.
Note: If you stress, you are going to metabolize in a wrong way. Get informed on sophrology or EFT (emotional freedom technique). I can give a link if wanted.
PS: How do you manage your image? What's the purpose?
PS2: When you feel in trust, I advise to let your parents come here and to allow them to read these posts. It will be easier for you too, if they perceive you aren't upset / out of control / under influence.
PS: Make to parts:
- the situation with facts, few comments.
- Your feeling. If it lasts for longer than 1 month.

@NNight I love starches and greens! But they seem to irritate my gut. When I feel like my gut health and digestion is better I plan on going back to a more 'normal' diet but for the time being what I've been eating is working for me and improving my health. I agree on making my diet look more normal. I think seeing your son walking upstairs with a piece of cheese and orange juice would worry anyone lol. I need to figure out some more recipes rather than eating single ingredients. Yes I am French and English and have lived in England since I was 4.

@LucH Thanks for the help. I would greatly appreciate the link!
age- 26
Height- 6'5
Weight- 205lbsI Lift weights intensely for 15 mins x6 a week and walk for about 1 hour a day in the forrest split into Morning, afternoon and evening.
I eat around 2700 calories a day, 110g protein, 275g carbs, 113g fat.
What do you mean by how do I manage my image? As in how I appear to other people?

@thibaud
Ok, maybe all starches are not equivalent in your situation (rice is often said to be more easily digestible for example).
Personally I find some lettuce to be well digested too, but it's something personal and you know better than us what works for youAnyways, welcome to the forum!
Ps: I should have seen that your english was too perfect to be a product of the french education system lol.

@NNight thank you! I appreciate your advice.

Do you drink low-sugar drinks (light coke e.g.)? If yes, not a good idea (microbiome perturbed).
