Aspirin long term usage
-
Is there any negative outcomes of long term aspirin use? I just realized I have been using it everyday for about a year now. 325-900mg a day… normal my just 325 mg. I take K2 and have never had issues with bleeding. I take it before bed and it helps me sleep like a baby.
Only thing that concerns me as I have heard it can potentially cause kidney issues.

Had researched different aspects of aspirin use at the old forum, including using the search term aspirin kidney.
Apparently it may lower the sodium portion of the NA/K ratio. A little sodium bicarbonate would at least partially remedy this, along with buffering the acidity of aspirin. It's also healthy for the kidneys all on it's own. One aspirin in 30ml of water, a light tap or two of sodium bicarbonate, stir, dissolve, wait for the bubble reaction, drink.
Edit: some example threads.

Or one aspirin in the morning, followed by another dose or two of 1/4 aspirin later on.
And going by all of the discussions, some K2 and Glycine rich foods would likely be helpful as well with regular aspirin use. Take note of the excipients in your pills as they can cause issues that some would blame on aspirin (has anyone checked US Bayer brand lately? Blech!) Pure powders are ideal and cornstarch is probably second best.

The main concern would be instestinal bleeding but if you are taking K2 it should be fine
