Pop music is trash, but there are some folk songs like The Stable Song which are calming and nice. Some pop songs are also upbeat like: This Must Be The Place, Born To Be Wild, and The Passenger. That being said, one should force oneself to only listen to the best of classical music like: Bach, Mozart, and Wagner. The highest form of classical music makes you better, while pop music brings you down.

King Crimson - Nuages (That Which Passes, Passes Like Clouds) I listen to this for hours on repeat every week when I'm busy reading papers and history books. It never gets old.
