If I eat carbs, I have no problem when maintaining/bulking but to lose weight I struggle with satiety massively. I end up thinking about food constantly with non-stop cravings and sometimes feeling weak/light headed.

I've tried the honey diet and going into high carb low fat territory but still really struggle with both when cutting. When I experimented with carnivore a few years back, I found weight loss effortless and could drop 12-18lbs in 4 weeks easily. Some of this was water weight of course but a solid 8-12lbs of fat be gone.

Is there any harm in using carnivore as a short-term tool, including gelatine, cheese and raw milk for calcium and glycine and maybe a little dextrose before/after workouts to minimise cortisol? If it was for no more than 3-4 weeks at a time a couple of times per year. Does anyone else do anything like this?

@Truth Basically, you eat sugars until your last meal of the day where you eat mostly fat and protein.

Here is a broader description: https://longestlevers.com/fat-loss/honey-diet.html

Just eat more sugars. The sense of feeling hungry just means that your body needs more fuel. Remember how as kids our parents wouldn't allow us to eat sweets before meals because it would take away our appetite (sense of hunger) ? I think there is some truth in that.

I understand the craving/thinking about food part tough. When I was doing sugar fasts I would think about baguettes covered in irish butter at night.

@Kilgore it IS bad, dattes aint optimal, to much honey/to much honey relative to other foods bad

@Truth Yeah some people love it but I didn't feel particularly great on it and eating tons of sugary carbs with no fats or proteins gets boring. You will lose weight with it.

@Kilgore Those kind of cravings are mad, consumes your whole mind 😂

The problem I have is because I'm always active, my bodies craving fuel constantly. Feels great when I'm having decent amount of carbs with moderate fats and protein but if I'm trying to lose weight I'm just constantly thinking about food at anything less than 3k calories.

But with carnivore I could easily drop to 2.5k or even a bit lower and the fats make me feel so full I barely even think about food, outside of occasionally craving fruit/rice.

I might just switch for a couple of weeks, I know it's not optimal but I'd rather do that for 2-3 weeks and get lean and get back to eating properly instead of trying to work a small calorie deficit for with carbs for a longer period.
