Is the modern rise in religion a cope for learned helplessness?
-
I feel that the modern trad cath rise in religion in the right wing is a cope for learned helplessness. Of course for the young men, it's the desire for higher quality women since many post college age women are completely unbearable in attitude and ego, but also there's the desire for an active God to control situations that are out of their control. A reliance that is perhaps a bit too much that can certainly stem from learned helplessness.
I had one friend who dove far into end times conspiracies and the WEF and he was of the belief that all farms would go in the future, all money, and we're close (within the span of a year) to the second coming end times prophecy. He wrote off my health advice as worldly. Didn't think life was meant to be enjoyable or fun. This same friend killed himself and it made me question what I believed and how I needed to do more action for my own life rather than trust in what I see now as a deceptive religion.
Think about it rationally, with no political control and voting to most people doesn't matter, a drugged up poisoned population, of course people need copes when they aren't able to lead an adventurous and dominant life. This severe coping always comes at a time where someone is doing very little in their own life to improve their situation.
I think many are delusional on how bad our world is and how bad things have to be FOR THEIR OWN LIFE purely because of bad gut health causing an anxious and depressed state. Many religions prey on people in this fearful worried state and that is exactly the state that people are ending up in from bad diet.
-
@Sugar you may be surprised, but not everything is cope or related to gut health.
-
@Sugar Do you mean the modern decline in religion? Disbelief has not been so widespread in quite a long time. When people were healthier and more vital they considered it important to praise the All-Father.
-
Worship of the great forces of nature is peaty. Doesn't have to be a specific one, the process of worship is the important part, not the specifics of the beliefs.
-
@Sugar Maybe for boomer dispensationalist zogbot retards like Charlie. I think normal people become more superstitious and inclined towards magical thinking in the absence of Christianity.
-
@tasty-snack You have to be unbelievably intelligent to see what's going on. What you see in the media is not an attack on "Jesus" but an attack on the entire population of a country to weaken themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Christianity is just being used to cope with Hollywood propaganda, poisoned food supply, everyone and their mother on pharmaceuticals, high obesity rates, and a senile embarrassment of a president. Christianity tells you to obey your enslaver, do nothing, don't make a lot of money because money is the root of all evil and the rich won't make it into heaven, and that the world is supposed to be evil(so do nothing about it). It's slave morality plain and simple.
-
@API-Beast Yes this is true. But Christianity is subversive and cringe. A belief system only Charlie could engulf himself in while he makes retarded decisions like banning the greatest researcher of all time Haidut.
-
@Sugar I try not to pay too much attention to the outrage engine ("the media"), but I prefer to read books from great men in great eras. To me, it is clear that a vital metabolism coincides with fiery faith.
There is too much nuance here for this one paragraph to be sufficient, but I will summarize for the sake of brevity anyway. Christianity is so unpopular these days that it could not even field an Inquisition. Nor could Christians tear down Pagan temples, of which there are many, without a tremendous popular uprising. Taking the whole historical picture into account, it is clear, to me, that the faith you have a grievance with is not on the ascent when compared to the past.

@Sugar I agree with this. Coming from a Catholic background, I am the same as Bowden:
"I’m not a Christian. And I never was. Although I went to a Catholic school, and they educated me very well. And almost every book in that library was by a dead White European male. And almost everything the one learnt culturally — from the rather gory sort of Grünewald-type crucifixion as you went in, to the Dali on the wall, the reverse crucifixion scene, in reverse perspective from above, that was next to the assembly point, and to everything else — everything was European. And that’s why people become Catholics."
Christianity is a dying religion, and the few left that don't lack willpower or propensity to reject these programmed systems of thought realize the subservient morality it holds — why it's attractive to parents and political leaders.
-
@The-New-Sun Exactly. Christians are also very self centered in thinking they are the only ones being subverted. They want to disenfranchise the entire world, especially the West, and again it is written in their text to do nothing and obey your masters. It is also universalist garbage that tells you to make this religion your entire life and put it above everything. To rely on Jesus, the messiah to spread the Torah to the gentiles, over your own reasoning. Definitely worth checking out Adam Green's videos on this topic on Odysee and Bitchute.
-
@The-New-Sun Its quite ridiculous to "pragmatically" analyze Catholicism from a "objective POV" without accepting its claims about metaphysics, the fall, demonic warfare, sin, etc. The crucifix makes little sense if you dont acknowledge the truth of these in the first place.
However, if you simply want to analyze Catholicism from its cultural point of view, that it'd still be easy to prove the absolute glory and ascendance of Catholic civilizations, economies, architecture, family structure, conquest, evangelization, etc.
-
@Sugar Again your analyzing things like "obey your masters" as if its something you can simply "objectively" judge pragmatically. This fact has to do with the basis of the truth of right and wrong in divine revelation, and the trust in God's providence. If you dont acknowledge these from your "objective" POV, then it'll make little sense to you why someone would come to the conclusion that it is better to honor those who have authority over you.

@dan-saintdominic
You should replace the word “Catholic” with “European” in that last paragraph about the cultural glory you speak of.
-
@The-New-Sun Catholic culture was European, and European culture was Catholic (at least until Reformation)

High dopamine allows you to pray/manifest with ease. High serotonin keeps you in hell. Religion tries to reverse engineer a high dopamine state through serotonin so it never really works.

@gugenmungus
I guarantee I have spent more time on this than you. I was raised Catholic, I’ve been practicing the sacraments since birth and I am telling you this is a waste of your time. ReconsiderStudies in the last 6 months:
Bishop Athanasius Schneider’s ‘Credo’
Joshua Charles ‘Persecuted From Within’
St. Augustine’s ‘Confessions’
Parts of Summa Theologiae
The entirety of the N.T, in KJV, Douay-Rheims, Knox and the Spaniard translation based on Vulgate
Codice Ratzinger;Cionci’s thesis
About 10 lectures of Northrop Frye’s course on The Bible and English LiteratureI have spent hours listening to debates between Orthodox, Trad-Cath, Sedevacantist, SSPX and benepapists perspectives.
I have argued countless times with Orthodox adherents about Palamas and his writings.
The more I read, the more I studied, the more pathetic all of it seemed, I went to Orthodox mass, Christian churches, spoke at length in debates with old WASP parents from a friend of mine. I went to Catholic and Traditional Catholic mass.
I reached a big ‘eye-opening’ event recently and I am taking a step back and changing what I am studying, going into Neo-fascinating and pagan school of thought right now.
-
@Sugar It might be the other end of the spectrum of learned helplessness— I’m of the belief that modern clinical depression is learned helplessness which is the generally accepted lefty consensus. But it would make perfect sense that on the right you reject a hypothesis and come up with your own, one of surrendering to God as a form learned helplessness.

@The-New-Sun Except all of the great conquerors and explorers like Colombus and Cortes were driven by their catholic faith, the architecture was driven by the Catholic faith, the education was driven by monasteries. The backbone of society all involved these forces.
Now look at what you have after you take Catholicism out of Europe: nihilism, piss ferility rates, lazy architecture and music. There you have your experiment in the past 60+ years of what is happening to Europe. Meanwhile the Pope is one of the only leaders in Europe who is sounding the alarm bells about the horrible fertility crisis. Why arent the Europeans doing what hes doing to bring awareness to this if you simply credit Europe?
Ill add though that Europe is an amazing motherland and accepted the Fertilization of the gospel. It was and in many ways still is its backbone of the church. This isnt to denegrade Europe, rather to put it in its rightful place.
