Wilhelm Reich, Vril, Esoteric Peatlerism
-
@jens Peat did come across his work. He mentioned going to the Exploratorium (perhaps a different museum) in San Francisco with Reichians and realizing his personal electromagnetic field was strong enough to deform a model vortex tornado. I hope someone can find the quote, I think it was in Day 1 of the On the Back of a Tiger interviews.
Peat seemingly had mixed feelings on Reich, believing he was "obsessed" later in his life. Not a hard conclusion to come to when he describes battling space creatures with his "Cloudbuster" invention. I think he was probably a genius.

I will post any interesting findings and similarities between reichs works and peats. The nazis and ancient societies definitely knew about this vril energy and how to channel it and use it in technology. It also seems clear to me that Nikola tesla belongs to this same school of thought. There is some biological energy in the aether that flows through everything. Reich developed something called the Orgone accumulator, a chamber comprised of alternating layers of organic and inorganic material, it harvests and concentrates this universal biological energy and he measured and used it to cure diseases and injury. Reading through the accumulator handbook reads eerily similar to Brodda Barnes' "hypothyroidism, the unsuspected illness", ancient aryan societies would build massive mounds using the same technique as Reich, layers of organic material alternating with layers of inorganic material. Tesla coils operate under a similar principle.
-
@jens The most I recall ray discuss Wilhelm Reich is in the primitive initiative podcast titled 'Dr. Ray Peat | Planned Obsolescence, Particulate Matter, The "Green" Reset, Soil, Wilhelm Reich, Social Structure, Digital vs Analog Reality, Morality and much more'
I listened to every podcast I could find discussing Reich this summer. I plan to pick up his books and put more effort into absorbing his work in the future.
-
@brad reading about reichs life definitely leads me to believe he is an insane genius of sorts. His work being destroyed by nefarious forces definitely leads me to believe there is at least some validity to it. I am thinking I may try to replicate some of his experiments and post the findings on this thread.
-
@jens I would love it if you did that. I find his books to be a bit dense and he left so much material it would be a life's work to filter and process it all. There is a book called Life Force: The Scientific Basis which reviews all of the modern rediscoveries of Orgone/Chi/Vril/Subtle Energy and explains the experiments that led to those discoveries. One of my absolute favorite books.
-
@jens Replicating experiments would be amazing too.
-
@buckminster There's another podcast with James DeMeo that you might enjoy. He was probably the most sophisticated living Reich scholar before he passed away recently. @jens his book "The Orgone Accumulator Handbook" will show you step-by-step how to recreate Reich's devices and experiments, like Christoph Keller did at MoMa PS1, instigating record rainfalls.
-
@brad In the same book he talks about EMFs and many other of the toxic aspects of our modern environment, though using different language than what we are accustomed to. I linked the "orgone accumulator handbook in my OP" I am going to begin experimentation with the orgone blanket, If I find anything interesting with it I have good access to land upon which I can build an orgone chamber.
-
@brad I'll check out that book. Sounds awesome.
I find when exploring much of the 'energy medicine' world that it's hard to tell whats bunk and not. There is a lot of far out technology being invented, but much feels sketch. It would nice to have some sort of framework or science to judge them by.
After diet and lifestyle I feel harnessing the subtle energies will be the most potent accelerator of health and well-being. We are just scratching the surface of whats possible. It's exciting.
-
@buckminster Reading his stuff has driven me to brief periods of insanity. Most of his work has been popularized by the hippy crystal ayahuasca people. I would really like for the intelligent peating community to take his stuff and produce good empirical works with it. I think it could be a powerful addition to the peaty toolkit.
-
@jens The hippy world is where I first learned about orgone. I made some amateur orgonite in 2011, but didn't notice anything from it. I believe orgonite is just inspired by Reich, I don't think he invented it. I have since acquired a few professionally made pieces. I can feel energy from some crystals, I don't think I have noticed anything from orgonite. They look cool tho. Keep one near my water just in case it does 'structure it'.
-
@buckminster Some dedicated Orgone people bury orgone pyramids next to cell towers in order to reduce the EMF. Not sure how well that works. Ive seen people use shungite in their homes to reduce EMF and provide empirical evidence to back its efficacy. But I think most commercial products available are low quality, not done correctly and have negligible impact. I think it's a realm with big potential if the right people get a hold of it.
-
@jens john michael greer talks about the occult science behind ancient structures like cathedrals et cetera which he argues were designed to harvest qi. The inside would be a healing chamber, and the increased energy would improve crop yields in the surrounding fields. Why would the ancients go through all the trouble to create these massive structures if there was not any direct benefit. Supposedly a lot science and technique of creating them has been lost. If we could get some bright minds taking this stuff seriously we could see a renaissance in truly transformative ecstatic-bliss levels of energy healing.
-
@jens I have taken multiple different pieces of shungite to an EMF reader and had no effect. I only saw one video on youtube that showed it working, he sold pendants, and after my personal experience I now just assume he was a grifter. Still have a pyramid next to my computer just it case it 'harmonizes' the emfs not blocks them (like some people say), and thus effects can't be picked up from a reader.
It seems like a lot of folks in that space are riding high on placebo but I'm def open and I know the potential is there, its just so hard to evaluate. Like tensor technology is another one. I need to just buy a piece and feel for myself.
-
@buckminster definitely, the ancients and tartarians definitely knew of some technology and science that has now been lost. The pyramids for example were almost certainly built for this purpose. Peat said somewhere that peak technological innovation happened around the beginning of the 1900s. Since then it has been getting progressively worse in most regards.
Yeah i think a lot of that sphere is dominated by grifters and snake oil salesmen. There is validity to the ideas and technology, but i think the field is greatly underdeveloped.
-
Anyone have experience with orgonite? Specifically in large amounts, beyond the small black cloud busters? Feel like one of those legitimate big pyramids from Etsy would change the atmosphere of a room heavily but haven't pulled the trigger on one.
-
@Sugar Ngolo Tesla on Twitter talks a lot about this kind of stuff, and I really like his tweets, just skeptical if everything he incorporates legitimately works.

The encyclopedia.com entry for Orgone is surprisingly good
Orgone
Primordial cosmic energy, claimed to have been discovered by Wilhelm Reich between 1936 and 1940. It is believed to be universally present and demonstrable visually (a blueness in the atmosphere), thermically, electrosopically, and by means of a Geiger-Müller counter. It manifest in living organisms as biological energy.
Reich invented what he termed an "orgone energy accumulator," a device to concentrate orgone energy in a box constructed from metallic material and covered by organic material. Reich found a temperature difference between the inside and outside of the accumulator and believed that the accumulated energy had a therapeutic effect on individuals. He performed experiments using the accumulator on cancer patients and reported substantial improvement in the health of patients. He authorized use of the accumulator for "therapeutic" purposes provided it was used in conjunction with "reputable" medical advice. As a result, he was the subject of court action instituted by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States. The FDA argued the accumulator had no demonstrable scientific effect on the human body.
As physician and psychotherapist, Reich rejected the charges against him and the accumulator and denied the right of federal inspectors to arbitrate in matters of natural science, an argument not accepted by the court. His attack upon the court's authority caused his imprisonment for contempt of court. The court also ordered the destruction of his apparatus and the burning of his books. He died in prison. Many of his writings have been republished.
Currently, the idea of a static device accumulating some form of energy is being investigated; it has yet to be demonstrated scientifically. In the 1970s and 1980s, some people experimented with pyramid forms in an effort to claim this effect and sharpen old razor blades. Reich also claimed discovery of a motor force in orgone energy comparable with similar claims by John Ernst Worrell Keely and John Murray Spear.
Compared To Other Occult Concepts
Some have noticed the similarity of orgone energy to earlier ideas of "Od" and the occult concepts of vital force. The biological manifestation of orgone energy in humans as described by Reich is comparable to the kundalini energy of Hindu yoga science, but more closely resembles the idea of prana. An account of the construction of an orgone accumulator was given in Vol. 2 of The Discovery of the Orgone by Wilhelm Reich or the booklet The Orgone Energy Accumulator. Observations on orgone energy were published in the journal Orgonomic Functionalism edited by Paul and Jean Ritter, published between 1954 and 1963 from Nottingham, England, and in Energy and Character; the Journal of Bioenergetic Research published from 1970 onwards by David Boadella (an associate of Paul Ritter) from Abbotsbury, Dorset, England. In June 1955, the official American Association for Medical Orgonomy began publishing Orgonomic Medicine (c/o Orgonomic Publications Inc., 515 E. 88 St., New York, N.Y. 10028).
I have some more information on that Journal and may be able to access a copy of it soon. If anyone else can access the Journal of Bioenergetic Research please do let me know.
-
Reich is the real deal. I have a bunch of pdfs of plans for orgone accumulators. including the handbook mentioned by @brad. I can post here if ppl are interested.
I've seen a bunch of vids of people using tower busters to preserve food etc.
i personally put them next to couch, desk, bed at home

“The soul of man, with all the streams of pure living water, seems to dwell in the fascia of his body.” - Dr. Andrew Taylor Still
The alignment of the fascia is key for purposes of communication between physical body and beyond, and it is the prime circuit used in certain practices of transcendence. It acts as a resonator to transmit and receive electro-magnetic signals.
(They’re doing this to me tomorrow)
