I've been doing something like karezza recently, ~30 minutes of rhythmic sex without ejaculating, having the woman cum as she wants. The effect on the mood is dramatically better than ejaculating, afterwards. Even in the days following, at least for me. Worth trying.
I researched the subject a little bit more. The term "Male Continence" popped up in the context of the Oneida Community of the 1840s in the US. I kind of like this term better. It's not about "retaining" to me (which has an aura of tension or stress, linguistically) but more about "not expelling".
