Desiccated/freeze dried thyroid gland experiences

@Mr-X I recently discovered this experience as well. I started taking desiccated bovine thyroid by Ancestral Supplements and 72hrs later developed a hive reaction. Stopped taking it and the histamine response disappeared. Not sure what to do, I’m postpartum and breastfeeding so I don’t know if synth thyroid is okay to use. I’m getting a thorough thyroid panel (TSH is .99) to look at t3 and t4.

Most of the NDT products are pretty low quality and don't have much T3/T4, I think there have even been studies on them lacking the hormones. I believe Peat had lost faith in all of them before he passed, I still like haiduts tyromax though.

@lady_sojourner I‘m just an idiot to hold so long on dried freeze thyroid. Ive been on it for 3 years most of the time Metavive. The first I didn‘t noticed much from a histamine reaction after the 2nd year its still getting worser. I also took TyroMax the NDT from Haidut worst reactions ever. I took NDT prescribed from a doctor so the original „NDT“ pharma grade with a confirmed T3/T4 ratio of 1:4 but also couldnt handle it because of the histamine reaction. 3 years ago I thought my problem was synthetic thyroid (novothyral) but under this I was much better than today, I thought NDT was the miracle which was missing. Today I only took so little that I got no histamine reaction but I‘m severe hypothyroid. I‘ll start again with either novothyral + thybon to create a 1:4 Ratio or import cynoplus.
Your TSH .99 is good are u hypothyroid or have hashimoto? What is your t3/t4 levels in the blood?

@Dakota you must divide between dried feezed thyroid gland there is not much in it yes. But real NDTs Armour Thyroid, TyroMax or others have declared ratios. But there was also much problems the last years or decades with people who were fine before and after a new batch got worse. I think for people with no histamine reactions to NDT they could be great but for many also like me sticking to synthetic would be better I think.

I have almost 0 faith in NDT powder products. Manufacturers are unwilling to test or disclose hormone content and based on personal experience with weighing each dose, what you get varies so much dose to dose and batch to batch. It makes it hard to actually dial in a dosage or measure the effectiveness.

@mosscave could possibly need to supplement thiamine for energy production. I personally track my macros/calories otherwise I’d put on a bunch of weight.

i bought ndt from life giving store before all the drama and realizing that the charlie guy is crazy, it literally did nothing for me, i was taking 6 little scoopers of it a day and had no change in temperature or symptoms. just waiting on my cynomel to arrive
