Should I take DHEA or Creatine to increase my DHT? I fixed my diet and it didn’t help much I was at 24 now it’s 26 I heard that DHEA can shunt toward estrogen is that the case? Can’t take 11- keto androsterone since it’s illegal where I live

@hainsloy someone once asked Ray Peat about supplementing with creatine:

Post in thread 'Ray Peat Email Advice Depository'
            https://lowtoxinforum.com/threads/ray-peat-email-advice-depository.1035/post-325346

Me: Do you think a clean creatine supplement is safe and or beneficial? Thank you!

RP: Sometimes it has been used therapeutically, but I think manufactured supplements are always risky, partly because of manufacturing impurities.

            Br J Cancer. 2015 Mar 31;112(7):1247-50.
Muscle-building supplement use and increased risk of testicular germ cell cancer in men from Connecticut and Massachusetts.

            BACKGROUND:
No analytic epidemiological study has examined the relationship between use of muscle-building supplements (MBSs) and testicular germ cell cancer (TGCC) risk.
            METHODS:
We conducted a population-based case-control study including 356 TGCC cases and 513 controls from Connecticut and Massachusetts.
            RESULTS:
The odds ratio (OR) for ever use of MBSs in relation to risk of TGCC was significantly elevated (OR=1.65, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.11-2.46). The associations were significantly stronger among early users, men with more types of MBSs used, and longer periods of use.
            CONCLUSIONS:
MBS use is a potentially modifiable risk factor that may be associated with TGCC.

It refers to these two studies on creatine->formaldehyde->testicular cell damage
                https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10859677/
The present study demonstrates that creatine is metabolized to methylamine, which is further converted to formaldehyde by semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO). Formaldehyde is well known to cross-link proteins and DNAs, and known to be a major environmental risk factor. SSAO-mediated production of toxic aldehydes has been recently proposed to be related to pathological conditions such as vascular damage, diabetic complications, nephropathy, etc. Chronic administration of a large quantity of creatine can increase the production of formaldehyde

                https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24142868/
We found that formaldehyde exposure-induced autophagy in testicular tissues was dose dependent.
                [...]
In summary, formaldehyde exposure triggered autophagy, and autophagy may be a scathing factor responsible for male reproductive impairment induced by formaldehyde.

I was under the impression that the study sowing creatine increased dht was small, and the results were never replicated in subsequent studies.

Re your question, please see the two replies immediately above this one.

And regarding dhea, ray peat would suggest taking a small amount of dhea (eg, 1mg) along with a greater amount of progesterone (eg, 8mg) to ward any potential unwated effects of dhea alone.
Additionally I think I remember reading topical application might be a prefererable method of delivery than oral, especially if one is not overweight.
Finally, it is said it’s best to supplement with dhea when one is not under too much stress (for example, hunger, thirst, exhaustion, psychologial duress)

@hainsloy yeah no need to make things complicated. a simple decaf or regular coffee with lots of cream and sugar can go a long way reducing stress.
The magnesium in coffee, the casein protein in dairy and sugar all work against stress/anxiety as Ray Peat would say.
The reduction in stress hormones will give the regular hormones a better chance to do their job
