Peating isn’t and was never about losing weight. The only people who are likely going to lose weight peating are people who are severely estrogen/cortisol dominant and overweight for that reason.
If someone’s whole idea of “health” is “I am lean” then I can definitely see peating being a disappointment.
Peating for me has mirrored the progress I made on my autism in my late teens with LSD, but rather than being cured all at once semi-temporarily, it’s been incremental permanent improvements over a long period of time. IMO, anything that moves me in this liberating direction mentally is objectively good.
But yeah, I’ve gained like 20 lbs… must be from my liver not working due to vitamin A toxicity. Better become a neurotic gaunt skeleton…

Yes that’s from me. The filmmakers reached out to people who had donated when they were travelling around filming, I think this was around 2015? So I met up with them when they were in my city and they told me this directly in person. Apparently these break ins happened to Ray periodically over the years. That was why they filmed the footage at some Air BnB not his house. I also recall them telling me that at first he was extremely reluctant to participate. He probably only did so after learning how much the community had donated to make it happen.
In retrospect we all should have given the money directly to him. Another comment I remember was them telling me they were shocked he was poor.
They also told me even back then that RPF was being watched. Think that may have come from Georgi.
This makes me sad beyond belief, but I believe he chose to live simply and that is how he could do his work with integrity and not be beholden to anyone. I think he had/has a house in a general area near the University as he walked by me on the street once when I was visiting Eugene on a road trip many years ago. He walked briskly by toward an area with nightlife and outdoor cafes at around sunset and looked as if he was going somewhere. He said a quick hello as I did a double take but I was shell-shocked enough to not react except to look over my shoulder and watch him go.

Wanted to drop in and say hello to some old names and mentors. I was mostly a lurker but also a voracious reader and wanted to let all of you know that you guys and gals are great.
The contributions made sharing info, self experimentation, and especially help offered won't be forgotten.
We'll carry Ray's torch forward within the greater bioenergetic movement no matter what forum or group we find ourselves in. Hat tip

@saturnuscv yeah, I had six-pack abs you could ricochet bullets off of when I was over-training. But I also had insomnia, had to get up to pee frequently at night, stammered through conversations and barely spoke up. Often tongue-tied and looked down when people talked to me.
Now, I am sometimes amazed at my improved lingual skills. I'm sortof glib even. Assertively witty.
I sleep like the dead.
I only took LSD twice. It gave me temporary freedom from those symptoms too.

@C-Mex I was sad hearing that too, but I believe you are right it was by choice. I recall someone telling me they sent him money and he never even cashed the checks. Makes it all the more infuriating to see a dirtbag grifter like Smith smearing Ray’s name and Charlie propping him up into god-like status.
@yerrag interesting theory that Charlie was replaced. I remember you saying that about Tara during Covid and I agree her stance was weird as hell for a supposed longtime Ray Peat follower. If RPF was indeed being “watched” (as the filmmakers told me) then it only makes sense they would have “plants”. As for Charlie, I was there since 2013 and I remember he was always a bit authoritarian but not religious. Maybe they replaced him at some point with this new “end times” persona he has now? It definitely makes a mockery of everything Ray was about.
@jwayne I noticed Georgi started putting some of his product descriptions on the Idea Labs website instead of linking through to the RPF posts. So he may be doing an Irish exit from the forum.
@Regina I would love to hear more about your diet. You look incredible. It seems like the “new RPF” crew is prioritizing thinness (and green poop???) above all other health markers. I’d rather be a bit fat than have sallow skin, frown lines, veiny arms and grey hair. At least in her before picture she had nice pink skin and a rosy glow.
Anyone know what is the green poop they are supposedly “detoxing”? Could Charlie as the forum owner get in trouble for encouraging this? In light of Blossom’s photos it looks and sounds like they are all making themselves sick.

I don't know who Charlie is, only that he's forcing low A down Peat forum's throats.
I do find this odd. As much as I can back all of my claims up with papers, I'm not entirely sure why Charlie has operated in the way that he has. Low A has a lot of enemies as the moment, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility of enemy agents trying to ruin our optics.@will_of_europa

Sorry, this looks like a cheap attempt to establish legitimacy as a counter movement by claiming anybody would care to try to subvert it.

Self-experimentation being a feature of Ray Peat's work, but you won't gain weight on this one. Confuse, divide, conquer.
None of these people can impugn Ray Peat's work. The real losers in this charade are the people for whom his work gets lost, public policy changes if his perspectives were more widely accepted, and the future research he may have inspired, and yet still might despite all of this.
