New "Mission" of RPF

With regard to the activity level, I just had a look at the start page. There is about one page - a bit less - with posts from the last 24 hours.
When I was still a member of the forum and last checked there at say 7PM Central European Time, and then again at 9AM the next day (probably the most active period for most US members), I had to click to page 4 or 5 until there were no new posts anymore. So I would amateurishly guess that there is about an 80% reduction in activity. Probably more than 90% if we factor in Charlie's burner and mouth piece accounts.
But who could have possibly known that banning and scaring away 95% of the most active members would result in a reduction in activity?

Are you able to access the archived forum pages on the Internet Archive?

@Amazoniac
i had simply mentioned archiving here one time, and just a day or two later those same messages came up for me. Apparently the site is now excluded. -

@ilovethesea Charlie claims he destroyed $50k of inventory, but this is not especially believable. We can't tell whether anything he says is fact or fiction. Maybe Charlie is just not very smart. He believes God is coming to save the US. Charlie believes he is part of the saving, the nutritional part, so Charlie has a god complex.
"A god complex is a pattern in which an individual believes they have great power, ability, infallibility, influence, and are superior to others. It often refers to behaviors associated with narcissistic personality disorder or mania" https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-a-god-complex-7112056#:~:text=A god complex is a,narcissistic personality disorder or mania."For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." applies to Charlie
"The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule"
quotes are H.L. Mencken
Thought I'd check in on another one this Sunday afternoon.
"I've positively influenced the health of hundreds of millions of people all over the world. More effectively in fact than any other human in history."

I really don't mean to aimlessly belittle an old man. It's just a useful illustration. Another way to know.
No doubt he's been helpful to many, some of the time. Why wouldn't this be an instance of that.

Wow, deal offer for the RPF name, but no dice says the lion.

FWIW it doesn't show in the screenshot there but in the full Tweet, Fave was being snarky/antagonistic. He started it with by saying:
Hey "Detective"Hence, the "Mike Fave" in quotation marks.
Shame because I'd like to see an actual productive conversation on Low-A vs. Bioenergetic perspectives on what both are seeing. Most of the conversation I see on it is antagonistic (going in both directions).
-
@jjk_learning I watched Mike's low A videocast in entirety. He was professional and did not antagonize, at all. I then saw some responses to his video by Mr. Smith. I'm quite certain the "nutrition detective" drew first blood. He is not a professional. (Maybe a professional shyster?)
-
@S-Holmes I saw Fave's full video too, and thought it was good. Like you said, professional and not antagonistic. I enjoyed the video and was hopeful for some good conversation based on that. I didn't see Smith's response to the video so I can't comment on that.
Fave's Tweet (and his Twitter bio) is antagonistic though.
Hopefully at some point they can drop the hostilities and have a respectful conversation about these topics; I think it would be good for lurkers like me to learn from.

Correct. And there are myriad instances on Twitter of people trying to communicate with him without the (very minor and frankly comedic) slight. Whereupon they got slighted and blocked anyway.
Something's got to give. But I've no idea what and appear to lack the time.

Smith can't let that happen, there are certain aspects he can't or won't just explain away, at least that part is transparent enough. Things are now at the point where those who know better are simply toying with him.
But if you're interested in learning then that takes time, and in the meantime you can sit back and enjoy this show, as it plays itself out.
-
@BioEclectic What are some of the aspects he can't/won't explain?
I'm new to the low-A concepts. I'm more familiar with RP/bioenergetic ideas though I certainly don't have a full grasp -

Follow the yellow brick road.

Another coincidental nine nine nine.
-
@jjk_learning Well, I mean, the guy calls himself the nutrition detective. He kinda brought that on himself, lol. I don't think it's inappropriate or even snarky to use that vernacular especially when you're putting out highly controversial ideas that the science disagrees with you on. I, too, would also like the "detective" to enlighten me. Apparently vitamin A deficiency grants immediate & permanent access to the Akashic records, we need the messiah Garrett to impart this wisdom upon us.
-
@ThinPicking Yeah it looks like he blocks a lot and often uses an offputting approach. I'm trying to get to the root of the disagreement though. Beyond all the back-and-forth vitriol, it is hard to find substantial discussions of the idea that Vitamin A is harmful/beneficial. It all goes ad hominem and never reaches actual discussion. BioEclectic mentioned that there are aspects that Smith can't/doesn't explain. I'm trying to hear what those are.
-
You can go through that and find a litany of reasonable inquiry that he's refusing to respond to.
And that is the point.
There was some excellent retort from the gent behind this account as well. He's MIA now but you can take inference from the responses.

I know Charlie reads this thread, so I want to ask him, what exactly does he think gives him the right to profit off of Peat's name while constantly insulting him and banning anyone who agrees with or defends his theories? What a pathetic man.
-
@ThinPicking I see a lot of those responses. It seems like those people (Goeddeke, Williford) are discussing what Bilbo is bringing up. Hard to tell for sure without his account/tweets active. But that seems like a decent legit discussion, which is good to see.
