@ThinPicking lol!
No one is coping, Garrett. You should be coping that your arms are the size of peanuts

The problem I have with these zealots is that they do not look healthy whatsoever. This Will of "Europa" person looks terrible. He is extremely overweight (obese) and thin on top.
This is not to be mean about someone's appearance but his dismissal and rudeness when it comes to any other alternative health approach - such as Ray Peat's - is pretty shocking considering he looks this way.
For someone who loves "Europa"... does he not realise that for centuries Europeans had excellent physiques and health all while eating plenty of cheese, milk, eggs, vegetables? Dairy and eggs are staples of so many European diets. But he dismisses all of that, while looking the way he does, and endlessly promotes a very restricted diet with little to no evidence showing that it works.

@questforhealth
Not sure if it's been mentioned here but how about that one poor forum member who took the niacin recommendation, then had to check himself into the hospital that day or next? That incident was brushed off like a speck on the sleeve, no words of concern or inner reflection demonstrated. -

@ilovethesea He believes God is coming to save the US. Charlie believes he is part of the saving, the nutritional part, so Charlie has a god complex.
The "God saving America" rhetoric is an extension of his MAGA devotion. He was whipped up in the 2020 election frenzy so no surprise the same is happening for the 2024 one.
Watched an old Garrett stream recently where he says something along the lines of "I don't know why God chose me for this battle," so of course Charlie extrapolated that as VA toxicity being some holy war lol
Yet another reminder Charlie doesn't have novel ideas.

The thing that doesn't make any sense is why he would alienate a good part of his existing membership and existing or potential customers with the hair-trigger banning and hostile rhetoric about Ray"s work. Last I looked, online readers were on the decline.
I think it's motivated by narcissism, not just greed. Despite running the #1 Peat online forum Charlie was never particularly well-known or respected in the community. He has never established direct communication with Peat like Danny Roddy or even some fairly obscure Youtubers. Even on his own site he was overshadowed by Haidut and several other popular posters.
So, being rejected by "Peat world" he has rejected it in turn and instead adopted a new framework that puts him on top by default. Many insecure (in a physical and not purely psychological sense) leaders use this sudden switch tactic to purge the opposition. Of course, it has not been particularly effective, but we are talking about a guy who thinks BRICS countries are going to destroy the US dollar in a month or so; I wouldn't expect him to have a good grasp of practical politics.

" But, then, after about say 3 – 6 months, they start to see those improvements regress. In some cases they regress even more and sometimes even end up being worse off than before they started a low vA diet. The percentage of people encountering the setback is somewhere around 30% – 40%, with a wide range of various degrees of severity. "
So an acknowledged failure rate of 30-40%, some cases severe. This is after only 3-6 months. I am glad you recovered from this disordered eating diet.

Christ. This gave me MILD liver issues. I know I'll be fine but its all a good lesson... What exactly happened to this member??
What an awful diet. Every time I take my iron supplement I dip into copper deficiency. Even eating meat does this to me.
-
Apparently they think Cod liver oil is killing the WAPF people because of the vitamin A now, and not the rancid oils in it which was discovered many years ago. Funny how the narrative can be changed to whichever way the wind is blowing today lmao.

Charlie dumb as a block. Unbelievably stupid.
Rinse & rePeat: I don’t understand this idea since I don’t restrict vitamin A, except for beta carotene, and I haven’t been sick with anything for over seven years.
Charlie: Not getting sick is not a good sign, its actually a bad sign. It shows that your body is not having regular and natural detox cycles and instead has decided to hold onto the toxins and they keep building up until eventually the "vitamin A" cascade comes into play. You are likely suppressing this cycle with all the toxins you are taking in. The only people who should not get sick is those who have completely detoxed and that can take several years.
Rinse & rePeat: Well the years I was getting sick, I was not looking the part of good health and did not have the boundless energy I have now. I imagine my liver must be eliminating toxins through my bowels. I’m not interested in my sick sluggish old days.
Charlie: You use stimulants for energy so of course you have energy. You are stealing from the future energy to get today's energy. Eventually that check will need to be cashed......
Rinse & rePeat: Charlie I have one cup of coffee in the morning, and no supplements AND I’m sixty.
Charlie: It's possible that you are going into the older person pattern of where they do not get sick because the body does not support detoxing anymore. Liver is a stimulant.
Rinse & rePeat: Well it’s bliss!
She better be careful, in some social circles that could be considered making a mockery which results in a ban
In all seriousness, we should get her over here for the frequent recipe drops she does.

Unfortunate but not surprising. There's a tinge of incel anti-female rhetoric that pops up on occasion. But I do respect the admins commitment to open and free dialogue. Whenever those weirdos pop up we just need to be swift at putting those losers in their place, lol.

@questforhealth That is a shame, she is a very nice lady.

mf eating beans
-
@raypneat He is so stupid. Farting all the time is the only detox he is getting.
-
@Matt1951 Apocalyptic prophecies lead to violence or suicide eventually. They may one day say that the human body is too toxic ridden to suit the spirit and they will disembody themselves of toxins once and for all by leaving this earth early and joining their Lord in Heaven.

The Christians Who Eat Loads Of Beans Forum -
I've been coming across random 'Ray Peat nearly killed me' posts on Twitter, usually as a repost and retort to somebody speaking highly of him. According to them I should have died long ago. This is a campaign.
Kind of akin the 'dangerous ideas' they're always so eager to quash politically.

I think we know what their answer is. It's in that conversation between Charlie and Rinse & rePeat. You're either so young and can "get away" with living a toxic lifestyle. Or you're so old your body doesn't bother "detoxing" anymore.
-
Or stealing from future energy if you feel good now, lol.

The low vitamin A diet is ridiculous. Just beans, rice and beef? What kind of life is that?
So what about the French, Italians and Greeks? They all eat copious amounts of vitamin A foods... dairy, eggs, colorful vegetables. I see many healthy Italians, French and Greek people who are also in shape. Many of these low vitamin A propagandists look terrible.
