I see. For me I have found that starch gives me the most satiety. I need a high starch diet , otherwise i'll get too hungry. ☺

I see , thats intresting. So have I understood this correct , low fat milk is NOT homogenised while whole 3 % milk is homogenised?

Yes , I do believe a high starch diet was very common in how people used to eat in the past.

            @Ray-Peat-Fanboy

            It's all homogenized btw.

It's that skim and 1% milk have less of the micronized [homogenized] milk fat that's theoretically persorbed undigested and deposited raw into the bloodstream. My explanation is way too oversimplified obviously, there's much more allegedly taking place here.

Homogenized 4% whole milk would theoretically do us more damage simply due to having more milk fat to begin with.

None of this is to scare people away from milk. Keep drinking it folks, find the right type and quantity that most agrees with you. A2, goat, regular, 4oz at a time or 8oz's, find your sweetspot, keep experimenting, it doesn't have to be liters a day either. Some may need to work on their digestive system first of course...

I've both switched to 1% & skim and lowered my overall milk intake a bit, i found it much too calming in a mind numbing sort of way. It doesn't seem to happen with cheese though.

@Ray-Peat-Fanboy yeah that's because sugar boosts metabolism
Peat said that starch granules remain undigested, perforate intestinal walls and goes into the brain creating inflammation.
Life is different without starches, more emotions and life seems more vivid

@Androsclerozat How do you know its not the extra sugar that you replace the starch with thats enhancing your life, rather than the removal of the starch specifically?

                  experimentation
There is always a spectrum of vividness in life
Even a small portion of starch can disturb it, but I understand that one small meal every 3 days is fine
The more I ate starches the less vivid life was and the less I cared to see my friend
I tried high sugar low starch diet and I was still not interested in watching people's reactions and if I was to play a basketball match, I would get competitive, while on sugar I would be carefree.
                  Starch drives status and ego
You must feel hyped/content over nothing

I had interpreted Ray Peat's discussions as it being "raw starch" granules. Starch that either wasn't cooked well enough or wasn't prepped correctly using methods like nixtamalization etc. I do know that a sick intestine may persorb even more and deposit it almost anywhere including the spinal fluid.

@Androsclerozat Sorry to draw away from the original thread but may I ask what you eat, personally?
Do you consume much fat in your diet? If you are low fat what do you eat? My intention in asking these questions is trying to draw conclusions from multiple accounts of what can work for people here and experiment with applying it myself.

@Milk-Destroyer I know that I am against starches but I eat a meal every 3 days to keep good sleep quality. I get tired of sugar sometimes.
My diet consists of milk 1.5% fat 2-3 liters, ground beef 150g and sugar 300g or maple syrup. Sometimes I add dark chocolate without soy lecithin 50g or orange juice fresh 500ml. If I skip the meat, I drink more milk.

Above I was talking about starch persorption, but it's safe if you keep lots of bowels movements and not exaggerating in meal portions. It's pretty hard to digest them perfectly tho. Sugar will always be superior.
