Has anyone managed a liquid diet long term?
-
I started today off with a liquefied meal but I always crack pretty quick.
Is there a trick to sticking with it?

1% milk and oj is key. maybe some gelatin or meat for protein, and some fruit. I've noticed more milk or oj is better when I'm tired or "not hungry."
never long term though.

I don't think I've ever done over a few months of solely liquids but I've done a mostly liquid diet the past 6-7 years. It works great for me. Only issues I have are dental decay (to be expected with all the sugar I consume) and also my teeth not being as robust when I start chewing things again, I assume from simple lack of use. So yeah, I don't know if I would recommend it to anyone, but I feel good on it.

most ppl make the mistake of not adding salt, seems very unsatisfying and potentially gut disrupting if you don't add charcoal or carrot salad

I had this crazy idea to make like a soylent food product. The plan was to drink it through the day. I weighed measured pressure cooked blended...but gone by 6am!!! 1600 calories of savory fibrous foods down the hatch and it's like it didn't happen. I was unusually hungry all day.

I tried working with orange juice, milk, gelatin, coffee but it's the same issue. I don't know how people can pace themselves.

I have a slightly different take on this, (and I believe it’s why it’s sustainable for me). I drink warm milk with honey or dextrose all day. Then, I eat a “normal” dinner, at 5pm and a “normal” snack at 8pm, (the times are irrelevant, that’s just when I can fit those meals in). I then return to milk and honey around 9pm before heading for bed around 10. I try to sleep til 6-7am, (totally dependent on kids).
This way I get the chewing fix for dinner and I get some fats in. I have a separate theory that the key to weight loss at high nutrition and calories is not engaging the Randle cycle. As such, I drink skim milk with my honey or dextrose all day, (so there is no fat during the day).

I might need to amend this and say yes it's pretty unsustainable unless you're bed ridden. Healthy people eat solid food. Eat less pufa is my lesson. -
@evan-hinkle what brand dextrose sir

@eduardo-crispino I just use Nutricost. It’s non-GMO and relatively cheap. I’m sure there are better options but it’s been a godsend for me.

I can only report that I've been liquid-only for a few extremely intense moments in my life when I've had to work inhumanly hard, lasting several days. In those moments not having to do cooking, and the high digestibility of liquids, are an extreme help.

For the past year I've subsisted mainly on milk, juice, soda and meat and it has caused severe issues from the lack of fiber and endotoxemia.

https://x.com/brainenergy4me on twitter only has goat milk, I think for a few years due to gut problems.

Having a solid food such as a chunk of cheese with it?
I went long periods on liquid only (raw milk and fruit juice) purely out of necessity, and the majority of my calories have come from liquids since 2014 because of how good I feel without much fiber in my diet, the number one benefit for me of the carnivore diet (I followed it back in 2010/2011) and Ray’s advice (he told me back in 2015 that he thought all fibers were risky when I asked him if he thought my following a fiber-free diet was safe). The only fiber in my diet comes from fresh pressed juice, all fruit jam (St. Dalfour), nice cream, young coconut meat and fresh figs when in season, totaling no more than 15 g of fiber on the days I have the nice cream, coconut and figs, and no more than a gram or two on the days I have only the juice and jam. I drink at least 1 liter of fresh pressed fruit juice and/or raw milk in a sitting and I always have a solid, salted food (eggs, meat, cheese and/or strained yogurt/quark) with it because it takes at least 20 minutes for me to feel satiated and I tend to chug down the juice and milk within minutes if that’s all I’m having.
