I think Georgi is the next best thinker to Ray fallowed by Kathleen Stewart

I checked 2 of her interviews out. She seems really smart and I'm glad you mentioned her but I can't replace the great wise old man Dr. Ray Peat with what appears to be a 19 year old woman. I think people here are more flexible than I am (well good for you then πŸ™‚ )

Georgi is great but he's too young and he's so busy that he only has time to guru at stop lights on the way to his day job.

Danny Roddy is far too young and in all honesty he's not confident enough to inspire confidence. It's an issue.

Some people have mentioned reading and listening to Ray's old stuff and that's great but things change and the next covid type event will need someone still with us.

Michael Hudson is a good modern voice on economics. Especially the book "Superimperialism" discussing the US-oriented structure of the international monetary system, how IMF "aid" is predatory lending, etc. But not a crackhead arguing for a reactionary return to commodity money a la bitcoin. More so a sovereign generation of credit.

The rapid-fire speech and encyclopedic knowledge in older age, and the resolute opinionated dissolution of a subject traditionally thought of as inscrutable and meaningless ("modern monetary theory" -- scientific nutrition) strike me as Peaty.

@Peatful it's awesome that you had actual correspondence with him, I suppose I'm a bit more sensitive of ascribing a portion of health or biology to his name due to what happened with the toxinforum, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a bit triggering to watch.
Regardless he changed my life with his analysis of William Blake. Take any nutrition/lifestyle advice aside that article alone changed the way I look at things in general drastically.

You should also include Peat's bibliography which is probably over 100 authors/scientists and thousands of books and papers. Somebody posted the library link on here. My "guru" list was satire. There aren't gurus, or they're mostly scam artists. But there are teachers, experts, and explorers.

@herenow if you see Peat as a Guru you didn't understand him and should revisit his work and interviews. What he wanted is give you the ability to fend for yourself and never follow anyone.

I remember so clearly the day word spread that Ray Peat was eating oat bran. So it shall be written oats are safe and the community started eating oats. The new doctrine from mount Eugene carved out a starch exemption and at the time I would have said I'll never eat oats but I ended up eating oats.

To me that's a guru but he's was different things to different people. I see some people find the word objectionable but it's sooo much fun to say. After a while you'll be saying it for no reason at all.

It makes me a little sad but that's probably the future.

Was Ray Peat as afraid of lawsuits as Peatbot? That's some disclaimer lol

@herenow yeah, he started eating oat meal and vegetables again and reduced protein intake..... and then he quickly died.

I think this was his last message to us, wether consciously, before faking his death and dissapearing to mexico...... or unconsciously.
Stay away from grains and vegetables.
                                      ....and don't be a follower.
