Diagnosed with an ascending aortic aneurysm
-
Hello,
I was diagnosed with an ascending aortic aneurysm in 2021. Yes I do think it happened during covid because I had a terrible case of it with sky rocketing temps and high blood pressure. I also know I did not have this before because I used to run marathons and checked my heart on a regular basis.
The aneurysm is not growing so I am ok with living a normal life and I also do not take meds.
I have successfully got my temps and heart rate up using RP's general recommendations and also taking Cynomel. My heart rate is now usually in the 80's while it was low 60's.This is not good according to my cardiologist. He wants my blood pressure low, which it is, and my heart rate low too. For now I am just ignoring him, mostly because my enlargement has not really grown yet.
But this does play in the back of my mind. Should I go back to running and my old lifestyle? I don't even have a real question here. Just throwing it out there. Maybe one of you have another thought or insight on this.Just another thing. If the aneurysm does grow (5.5 cm is the cut off, I am now at 4.3) then open heart surgery is the way to repair it. That's something I hope I never have to undergo. I am 60 so hopefully I die from something else before that time.
Thanks either way.
