I finally got my 6 packages of 30 tablets 4mg Cyproheptadine (Periactin) from Spain (farmaciasdirect.eu) to cure my post-olanzapine anhedonia, genital numbness (no pleasure in genitals by stimulation even tho normal touch sensation is intact) and no effect by coffee/alcohol/etc. that have PERSISTED now almost a year after QUITTING olanzapine

Few days ago I 1st took 1mg, didn't feel much, took 4mg and had strong sedation/relaxation/sleepiness

From now on I take 1mg daily only

But I haven't felt any other benefits associated with lower serotonin like less anhedonia/more vivid senses/pleasure responses or such

Those who have taken Cyproheptadine, particularly this Periactin produced in Italy

Did new benefits appear after weeks/months of usage?

How long it can take for post-psych med symptom healing to happen by Cyproheptadine and other benefits besides sedation/relaxation/sleepiness to occur?

@Maximalus I get euphoria from 2mg cyproheptadine mixed with coffee on relatively not full stomach, complete with waking dreams like in an opiate coma. it's as good or better than kratom

anyways 4-6 weeks of cypro is what I would do.

@sunsunsun You mix it into coffee?

Tablets or liquid Cyproheptadine? Which brand?

How fast the effect kicks in after drinking it?

Never take Cypro in the evening. It reduces Cortisol. The body needs Cortisol to wake up, being unable to do that is where the grogginess comes from. Cypro isn't sedative by itself, it just removes the barriers (stress hormones) that prevent you from sleeping.

That means you need to take it at least 16 hours (better more) before your wake up time, so most of it is cleared by the time you need to wake up and you can have your daily cortisol spike.
