@Not_James_Bond Yayy!!!

@Harlock I so agreed with all your responses as well as those of @ilovethesea on this thread on RPF. I have only been on the RP forum for just over a year and I am still in the stages of reading and learning. I'm just glad I had the opportunity to explore it and read some of Ray Peat's work before the prominent yellow label section was added to the top of the RP forum list. I can't imagine how confusing it is to someone completely new and hoping to learn more about Ray Peat's ideas, especially when the owner/moderator of the forum is the one leading it all and the material is no longer labeled as "Anti-Peat".
-
So I went over to the Ray Peat Forum for a look see. Now you have to agree to Charlie's Terms and Rules in order to see any discussion posts. I'm not doing it. Oh well.... Nothing to see there anymore anyway. The Wiki is still accessible without agreeing to Charlies Terms and Rules.

@jwayne Does anyone know, was he always a fundie? I donât recall him weaving religion into every post until recent years. I do remember from the very beginning he had an authoritarian streak that was at odds for someone running a âRay Peat forumâ.
You would think exposure to Rayâs work would expand his mind for the better but heâs just become more close minded and tyrannical over time. It just doesnât add up.
-
@mostlylurking Iâm still so angry at whatâs heâs done. Stolen all our content to profit from and we canât even access it ourselves.

@ilovethesea What I can point out is that the type of religious extremism he now embraces is a very American thing and hence innately bound up with geopolitics which are exactly counter to Ray Peat's, as anyone can find from his interviews or even from what's contained in the philosophy of his books. Charlie now moreorless openly says "Vitamin A toxicity" critics are Satan incarnate.

Reading through the Terms Agreement was quite the eye opener for me. Coupled with Charlie's dogmatic authoritarian personality it's a no go.
I think we have been had. Oh, well.... It's not the first time.
On with the rest of my life!

I think that the extremism you describe is based in low energy. I mean on the molecular level. It takes a whole lot more energy to keep an open questioning mind than it does to grasp onto someone else's dogma and hold on tight so you don't fly off into the abyss.
Americans in general have been poisoned and brain washed. When they/we snap out of it, there's going to be some interesting times. It appears that Tucker Carlson has taken up the mission to awaken them/us.

@mostlylurking Yes please based CIA man please awaken the poor americans

Of course you might be correct. However, I think the CIA declined to accept him. But I did catch that line from Putin and I did research it a little on line.
The recent shorts Tucker filmed in Russia are eye opening; I liked the subway station tour the best I think. Fabulous mosaics on the walls, with immaculate chandeliers hanging above. The grocery store tour was pretty good too.
I suspect the timing on this might be part of a grand orchestration. We'll see.
-
@mostlylurking Well, there's very few CIA guys that are like 'Look at me I'm CIA'. He spreads a very clear and disarming narrative, and is a deeply untrustworthy figure.
I've lived in Moscow. It is indeed incredible what the Soviet Union built! Shameful that the Vlasovite plunderers now pretend it's their achievement.

Suit yourself.

Tucker said that the subway station was built in Stalin's time. I marveled at the cleanliness and quiet order.

But I did catch that line from Putin and I did research it a little on line.Pootin was trolling him and his adoring followers almost constantly, but that moment was spectacular. Seems more than likely Tucker's a farm boy. Just one stupid enough to think he's aligned with institutions or factions that themselves are aligned with "American interests". A useful (flamboyant and cringe) idiot if you will.
-
@mostlylurking The USSR under Stalin was the absolute zenith of organised humanity!

We'll find out who he is actually aligned with pretty soon. It's an election year after all. I prefer to imagine that he is aligned with the good guys because that gives me some hope.
This article is worth the time to read. There's a newer video included of Tucker speaking at the World Government Summit about the "why" of his interview of Putin.
-
@CO3 Tucker showed that the brilliance of the past has been kept/restored in Russia, unlike here in the U.S. where the lunatics are busy tearing down statues and older historical architecture and covering every surface with graffiti and more powerful lunatics are replacing Americans and the American culture with barbarians who come because they are invited in and welcomed with free stuff at the open border. The intention is to destroy this country and they're doing a bang up job of it. Our tax dollars at work.

@mostlylurking I don't agree, I think since '56 they have done everything they can to slander this period in history, and since Putin (the plunderer of the USSR) they have put this into second gear, in favor of celebrating their czarist past.
If they could they would never give nods to the greatness of the USSR (which was still miles ahead of the west even after the anti-stalin opportunists took over), but since there's quite a few people that still remember it - and their entire infrastructure was built in this period - they can't yet go to those lengths of revisionism.

It really doesn't matter if you agree or not, suit yourself. Honestly, it is fine if you disagree with me. But did you take the time to read the article written by Tom Luongo and posted on ZeroHedge?
What Everyone Is Missing About The Putin/Carlson Talk
"How many Americans learned that Putin asked Bill Clinton for Russia to become part of NATO, thus ending NATOâs raison dâetre?
"Or that Bush the Lesser unilaterally abrogated the ABM Treaty?
"Or that the Minsk Agreements were our last hope for a settlement of the differences between the Donbass and Kiev, and that Putin was the one pushing to make them work?
"There are at least a half-dozen other things people learned in this interview, if they had ears to listen, Iâm looking at you Scott Adams.
"And given that this conflict is hurtling towards a war that only very select gatekeepers and power-brokers want, that should have been enough to sharpen everyoneâs focus to give Putin an honest hearing.
"Now, that said, Putin did present his version of history, of the truth. Shouldnât we expect that?
"But, as Iâve painstakingly laid out here, much like Putin himself, focusing on that is focusing on the wrong thing. Itâs the wrong framework to view this interview given the current stakes of this conflict.
"And this is what everyone missed about this interview. It literally does not matter one whit whose is right and who is wrong here. Putinâs version of history isnât whatâs at stake here.
"It doesnât matter whether Putin violated international law by crossing the post-USSR border. As Putin pointed out, NATO violated Serbiaâs borders by bombing Belgrade for six months in 1999. So, borders only matter when it behooves certain actors?
"It doesnât matter if Putin is overstating the level of âNazificationâ of Ukraine to justify defending the Donbass, whether he jails journalists, cracks down on free speech, or rules Russia with a thinly-veiled form of democracy.
"It doesnât matter if you believe he pulled off a coup in Crimea in 2014, poisoned Sergei and Yulia Skripal, Alexi Navalny is a freedom-fighter or he helped get Donald Trump elected (and Iâm looking at YOU Hillary Clinton!).
"What does matter is that is how Putin views this conflict. And we have to deal with it. Period.
"What also matters is that those who stand behind Putin are even less patient and circumspect than he is.
"In order to avoid that bigger war only the oligarch class wants, we, as people, have to accept some responsibility for it getting to this point. Without that there can be no basis for a negotiated settlement.
"This conflict between the West, and this includes all of Europe, the UK as well as the US, and Russia is one with existential consequences.
"What Putin said, quite clearly, is that this ball is in our court. We can either sit down and have an honest discussion of a negotiated future or we will be at war. If that is what we in the West want, it is what we will get. Putin has put his sons on the line in eastern Ukraine. Are we?
You can dig in on being right or we can have peace. But, we cannot have both."
