the vitamin A toxicity grift needs to end

@thyroidchor27 i remember ray peat saying that as time went on he only ate the liver once a month instead of once a week due to the vitamin a content, but this doesnt mean that he got hypothyroid everytime he ate it or that vitamin a is always bad to consume. It just means he was eating more than he needed
-
I stopped eating liver several years ago. I'm on the fence about using a very small amount of retinol topically, and intuitive eating is what I now practice. No hard and fast dietary restrictions except for seed and nut oils.
-
I don't know about you all but I'm looking forward to digging into this one.
Is Hidden49 on this forum yet? If not, who wants to invite them? Better do it quick before they get zapped.

I finally got a chance to read over this Vit A deficient diet that's being talked about.
Seems to me the diet being promoted would create a choline deficiency over time, which is a contributing factor to dementia. And, I have noticed in the people promoting it (Grant, Charlie, Garrett) a particular aggressiveness. Which is in fact associated with the onset of dementia.Anyone with me on this?
Has anyone noticed the odd aggressiveness of these people? I'm sure they're well meaning individuals but there's just something off about the way they share their thoughts.Edit.. seems like it's going from one extreme to another.

Apparently this is what you should be eating
-
@Peatly I like all of those foods but WHERE is my rainbow? Gotta have it. I actually crave vegetables, even salad. Does anyone remember Dr.Lita Lee? She was one of RP's friends and promoters and I did a consult with her. She told me to eat salad. I was happy to oblige.
-
@S-Holmes Yes I do remember her. Personally I don't eat salads, I don't tolerate them since before peating. I do love cooked greens.

@Regina said in the vitamin A toxicity grift needs to end:
Is there any way that Charlie has been made an offer he literally could not refuse? We'll give you this (n = lots) money and you'll step aside. Otherwise, we'll throw you in jail for whatever horseshit we feel like??
Although, he was never a sharp dude.
I feel like he’s not smart enough to run a long con and he really does believe he is right with this low toxin garbage. Someone said in another thread that he has some fundie chat where he recruits other religious loons to the forum. I wonder if someone sinister took advantage of that and his obvious mental illness to manipulate him into self destructing RPF. And maybe that person is also “threatening his family” under another name to fuel the crusade.
-
@Zpol yes the vitamin A people are unwatchable for that very reason. Hard to believe long term followers of zen Ray would even entertain that energy
-
@Peatly Looks like something my cat threw up

Just watched parts of the video...omg how have so many people fallen for this guy. He is talking absolute nonsense!
He thinks cancer is an "accumulation of toxins in an area that the body walls off". What a bunch of nonsense.
He is claiming that sunburn happens because of the frying of vitamin A in the skin.
Saying that tanning is evidence of the burning of the skin from vitamin A and if it was healthy the body would keep it. So why then do people tan more when they take tyrosine?
The guy sounds like a complete charlatan I get major fake guru, con man vibes from him.
I'm really pissed off this guy has helped destroy the ray peat forum with his utter bs

PeterSN is getting amazing results after only a week and half of low vitamin A diet. For someone who has low cholesterol it is truly a miracle!!

Adding some info here about Garrett that I had posted on the “new RPF mission” thread:
Garrett Smith was promoting himself on Matt Stone’s 180 degree health blog as far back as 2012-2013 and they also wrote a paleo book together. This is what Matt does - he makes a 6 figures monthly income churning out books under his name as well as the pseudonym “Buck Flogging”. With his business books it’s clear he has complete disdain for his audience and literally teaches others how to rip people off with shady marketing tactics. He admitted on YouTube recently that his health advice like “eat for heat” was all wrong but he won’t pull those books from the market. Total lack of ethics.
Garrett’s Toxic bile/low vitamin A grift seems to have got its start on Matt’s blog in 2018: https://180degreehealth.com/vitamin-depletion-discussion-dr-garrett-smith/ Apparently Matt’s been on it since that time and if you want to see how well it’s working look up his YouTube video (not a great advertisement for Garrett, haha). I couldn’t believe it was the same person.
This is Matt’s diet now: “I’d prefer my diet to be full of potatoes and turnips and white asparagus and pears and such. But it’s mostly chicken, beef, pasta, rice, white bread, Gatorade, and store-bought cookies, lol.”
These two are peas in a pod grifters and it’s ABSURD that Garrett an obvious charlatan would be held in higher account than Ray himself on Ray Peat Forum!

This guy Josh Guetzkow is promoting both Grant Genereaux and Garrett Smith here:
https://medium.com/@joshg99/i-believe-a-canadian-engineer-named-grant-genereux-has-discovered-the-primary-cause-of-auto-immune-d636d4e4b272Josh Guetzkow is a former associate of Miles Mathis, who is a higher level controlled opposition conspiracy theorist - well they both are agents clearly. Josh has been running a forum for years called “Cutting Through the Fog” for discussion of Miles’ work.
Anyway, I suspect that agents like Josh are why I started hearing about “toxic vitamin A” in certain telegram channels and twitter, before it took over RPF. There is definitely something more to this than just innocent Garrett healing righteous Christians with his miraculous discoveries.
Also for what it’s worth I noticed Matt has a Consultation page on his site. “Need some one on one counseling or some health questions answered? Send an email to Dr. Garrett Smith, the official 180DegreeHealth medical professional, and he’ll get back to you as quickly as he can.”
https://180degreehealth.com/consults/^ There is absolutely no way a character like Matt would have that unless he has an affiliate deal with Garrett for referrals. So likely Charlie is on the way to becoming an affiliate himself if not already.

I mean, all the oily vitamins (A, D, E, maybe not so much K) have a cumulative effect. Meaning if you eat foods rich in retinoic acids you will take in more than you use on a daily basis. So I could see how if someone is being a retard and eating A rich foods everyday for a year straight they might develop hypervitaminosis or whatever the fuck it's called.
Again, only bumbling idiots will allow this to happen, and when it does quite frankly they deserve it lol. But people get these weird tunnel visions regarding diet man...it's weird. Peaters aren't so different either.
I can't stand it when someone says "bro...you peating?" Like what does that even mean? I'm inspired by bioenergectics because I've had the most breakthroughs with my personal health listening to Ray Peat. But this "peating" you speak of idk what that means. If means am I drinking a gallon of milk and a quart of OJ every day than no, I'm most certainly not doing that. If it means am I shoveling 5,000 calories down to "reignite" my metabolism then no, I'm not doing that either. I simply eat to support my metabolic rate.
Forums I think are vulnerable to having their original messages hijacked by charismatic individuals that join them. And all the impressionable people that show up to hear one thing quickly get distracted by a koolaid salesmen. RPF had a few of those, like that Nathan Hatch guy.

Testimonial from someone who tried the vitamin A detox and got worse - she had even written a book about it but stopped selling it (unlike say Matt stone’s ethics)
https://justtakeabite.com/2020/01/06/why-we-stopped-vitamin-a-detox-diet/“As time went on some of my symptoms got worse and worse. These included:
tinitus (ringing ears – multiple times daily)
tingling hands and feet/extremities going numb
low energy
low milk supply
inability to focus/think clearly
slow digestion
food intolerances
gallbladder pain
eye twitching
excessive thirst/inability to hydrate
candida/yeast/rashes/itching
edema
hypothyroid”Anyway, interesting conclusion that supports the theory about “toxic vitamin A” being a top-down operation:
“A good scientist will try to DISPROVE his or her hypothesis. If there is no way to disprove it, then it might be valid. But if there are numerous cases/studies that don’t support it – that is a red flag. To me, that is what is happening with the Vitamin A Detox Diet. Proponents are trying to prove it, but not allowing any talk of cases where it is disproved.
Lastly, I did want to say that today’s post was about the main reasons we stopped the VAD Diet. There is definitely more to the story on both a personal and professional level. But I choose to keep that private. So if what I wrote seems a bit incomplete, it is. But it will have to do.”

Even the low vit A proponents are suggesting Garrett is a fraud
“Don't listen to people suggesting to follow G. Smith. He is not a doctor, and is honestly just out to make money on this thing.”

@ilovethesea
And Garrett said on X that he had talked to Grant about essentially censoring Grant's forum because of this. Not even ashamed of his support of censorship (but hypocritically condemns censorship when it's done by the other side).
