Recovery from drinking beer

@Ruben I tend to just go to liquors, and preferably not low quality. It's not that expensive if you buy them beforehand and don't share too much lol. Makes a huge difference. Progest-E is the best at preventing hangovers
-
@Not_James_Bond I think peat said that 10mg a day is the dose to go. You sure 100mg would be safe and/or optimal?
-
@CO3 Thx! Getting my hands on some progest-e isn't easy, since I live in Europe. I try to avoid beer as much as possible, as I almost never drink nowadays and often opt for bourbon of vodka. Some of my study related events only serve beer and wine, so wine would be the better option then? Any opinion on white vs red wine?

@Ruben What's hard about getting Progest-E in Europe? I have bought it many times.
-
@Ruben Sorry #255.

-
@CO3 I can't find it anywhere. Where did you buy it from? Ah I see the link, thx a lot!

@Not_James_Bond Nice! I'm not planning to drink 'like a whale' haha, but I'm going to try it for sure! thx

@Ruben i would drink beer frequently too, but it also makes me feel kinda crummy compared to liquor. it's the hops that are super estrogenic. but even drinking beer, i rarely get hangovers because i always eat a meal with it and try to drink an equal amount of water. lots of people mix red wine with water. drinking on an empty stomach is a recipe for disaster, same as coffee. you wanna couple it with a saturated fat.
i read somewhere that liver damage from drinking is driven mostly by PUFA, so avoiding PUFA should help, if you haven't already been. i think vit E would probably be useful in this case, the progest-e others have recommended should be good.

@Ruben Red Bull Vodka or tequila
Dihydromyricetin helped my hangovers and recovery the best, kind of expensive though
-
@onliest San Pellegrino-Coke-Grape juice- cachaca/GOOD vodka
-
@CO3 gin & tonic and moscow mules also never give me trouble. and tasty!

BUMPING this topic, not many solutions given.
I'm trying to put together a Peaty hangover solution/regimen; because life is meant to be enjoyed and one problem with being healthy and not drinking very often is when you do drink, even if you don't drink all that much like 3-5 drinks in one night, the hangovers are much worse, as your body has not had a chance to upregulate all the detoxification pathways that deal with alcohol.
Here are things I have put together, but need more on the supplement side (like maybe more targeted B Vitamin after drinking?):
-Drink clear spirits with sugar like OJ, coke, etc.
-Get plenty of water and nutrition in before/during.
-B-Complex before drinking
-When get home have cocktail of milk, sugar, salt, aspirin, progesterone/pregnenolone (+ some DHEA), glycine/collagenAnyone have anything to add?

@Evolutionarily said in Recovery from drinking beer:
Anyone have anything to add?
yes, drink water when coming home with electrolytes. mainly protection against headache, but not only.
Alcohol has driven water away.
Excess water and electrolytes are acutely excreted in response to additional alcohol ingestion.
Take some fat (2 egg yolks and 1 tsp coconut oil) 2 hours before leaving, to protect liver.
one caps antihistamine would be fine too, just before taking a meal.
enzymeDAO 1000 000 IU.
