Wtf its magic in a pill, it seems gut and liver are main things to focus on for 99 percent of people, also it prevents ER stress so fatcels can use it until they lean down.

Thyroid is good but i always felt it was just tackling one part, TUDCA seems to hit everything from experience but also from all the PubMed articles brain, liver, gut, kidney, adipose cells, insulin etc. .

How much do you take? I have 500mg pills. Don't notice anything but I think it's good to take on occasion.

@thyroidchor27 I think liver health and liver detoxing is very important. Detoxing the brain seems to have worthwhile results long term and slowly too. I'd like to try TUDCA but I've had decent results with a dandelion milk thistle tea and taurine. Definitely feel healthier after going through the detoxes. The Amazon reviews on TUDCA seem to be intense.

@Crypt-Keeper I'm the same way. Drained a 60 tab 500mg bottle with little effect. I don't respond strongly to most supps however.

@thyroidchor27 Look really good for clearing bacteria , but some bile acids help fungus grow instead similar to antibiotics
also they can help increase uncoupling / thermogenesis mildly from more t3 (but not in hypothyroid actually can do the opposite , i guess u still need enough t4 in system for the extra t3 conversion by it, otherwise might just get opposite effects from deiodinase 3 increase breaking down t3 not being matched with deiodinase 2 increasing t3)

First, bile acids do not only stimulate BAT D2 but also skeletal muscle D2. Secondly, CA alone stimulates [uncoupling protein] UCP3 mRNA expression in soleus of euthyroid mice, whereas it has no effect in soleus from hypothyroid mice, showing that this is not a nonspecific effect of CA but likely mediated by producing more T3 locally. Actually, CA in hypothyroid mice reduced UCP3 mRNA below the euthyroid control

Something worth knowing is they could be carcinogenic in the stomach if taken with high Ph environment (low acidity) ,ph 3 - 6. where safe for this at ph < 3 according to this. eating food raises ph

In a patient with normal gastric acidity in the 1 to 3 pH range, bile acids precipitate into harmless insoluble molecules (Fig. 10.25). At a pH above 6, the bile acids remain in an ionized form, which precludes their entry into cells. Between a pH of 3 and 6, the bile acids and their metabolites are converted to un-ionized soluble molecules that can penetrate cell membranes and enter epithelial cells.

Acid suppression, particularly when it is incomplete as in the vast majority of patients who take these medications, both over the counter and prescribed, has the effect of increasing gastric pH into the critical 3 to 6 pH range where it promotes the generation of carcinogenic molecules from the endogenous bile acids when these are present in the stomach.
