      My wife have been having issues with her mental abilities after giving birth and breastfeeding our daughter. She's having a hard time multitasking, listening while doing something else etc. Been thinking of giving her some B1 too see if it helps her but would love some tips from you guys. She eats peaty, milk, fruits, coffee, ice cream etc.

        @voldtzeig I would comfortably say don’t worry about being “peaty”.

        Nothing restrictive. She needs to freely eat.

        Kcal are essential. Trying to keep blood sugar steady to not stress her adrenals.

        Eat
        Sleep when baby sleeps
        Eat….

          @Peatful she's eating a lot, wouldnt really call peating that restrictive. She gets 8-10h sleep a day. Just mainly wondering if something could help her memory and focus. Something to incorporate.

            @voldtzeig glad to hear it.
            Most -when they say they are peat inspired -don’t eat pizza, burgers, cheesecake; nor eating the extra 500-1000 calories required for breastfeeding.

            Enjoy the baby

              @voldtzeig good B1 from a pure powder is not a bad idea at all! sunlight and all the other environmental factors would help. maybe a spa day or something similar. lots of human touch

                @voldtzeig I always go back and forth on whether to use water for hydration but I often come back to the conclusion that hydration levels are very important whenever IM dealing with stubborn issues. This would not be an issue if you eat like Peat (usually up to a gallon of fluids from fruit and milk), however many people dont do that.

                Of course water is not the only thing to account for (salt is so important), but you can see how many fluids shes having and if that helps (if shes already getting an average amount of carbs/fat/protein. Not that more food wouldn't help, but moreso that it wouldn't be the main cause likely).

                I can also add some experiences of having poor appetite all day and then drinking a few cups of water and regaining an appetite for a full meal.

                Of course the opposite can be true if someone is over consuming beverages, but if youre talking about the instance of post partum + breast feeding I think this might be part of the issue (more water + minerals).
