@Ecstatic_Hamster Hey, I'm also no supporter of how Charlie has treated long time friends, but by purity of this comment, I think it stands on it's own merit and should be honored as such - one human seeing the humanity in another
for those who can't stand Charlie and his camp, consider pitying the dude - an old Victorian thing that can be done while also acknowledging stupidity or need for justice, without losing your humanity.
I think the most boring answer is usually the right answer - no conspiracy needed - weather knocked out his store website, and likely did it to rpf, too. Weather has been terrible at least in the Southern Midwest in the US (a tornado killed 6 last week).

The forum is inaccessible and the archive isn't working for me. Even if I copy and paste the exact title of the thread I want to read into the archive search I can't find it. Very cool how Charlie wiped out tens of thousands of posts of priceless information from the internet to defend a copyright he quite literally has zero legal or moral right to hold. Genuinely unfathomable how he thinks he has a right to profit from the Ray Peat name because he registered a website domain.

@VehmicJuryman percent.

Re Storms in the Southern USA: I spoke yesterday to my Pops who is in the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and he said very strong weather from Texas thru to the East Coast. So this RPF "Website Down" could be related to that, OR, as has been said, the Lion just pulled the plug. I just checked and nothing... no wayback machine either! I am in Tasmania, and no nothing. I suspect he did 'erase' the old forum. Hope I am wrong.
I had been visiting the site once a week or so to research old threads, and sometimes make an occasional contributing content, but.... . It all went south in my humble opinion with the crazy aSS Mofo pushing "Poison Vit A" Purge = Health syndrome.
-
@Ecstatic_Hamster you must be joking...
-
@VehmicJuryman The Archive works fine for me, you just need to search by username. I don't know who made the archive or how they've set it up. But there's certain hosting companies won't respect copyright because they're in the "copyleft movement." There's several VPS groups out here in protected jurisdictions overseas that will allow you to host whatever you want (provided it's not CSAM or some other dark shit), including copyrighted materials, lol. Doubt Charles can do anything about that, but you can always download the archive just to be safe.

RPF now gets this page info:Storms Rock The Dallas Texas area and Knocks out RayPeatForum.com Servers
raypeatforum17 on May 30, 2024Early Sunday morning the 26th of May storms rocked the Dallas Texas area and took out the Ray Peat Forum servers. The hosting company declared a force majeure the damage was so extensive. We are in the process now of rebuilding the server and bringing the forum back online. At this time we do not have an ETA but soon as I get more info I will post it here. We have a backup of the forum right before the server went down. We are just waiting for the server to be fully brought back online to upload it. Soon as I have more info I will post here.

@Mulloch94 Right, I took that backup also
-
@Ecstatic_Hamster I need to find a time for this but I'll build a super easy to navigated, orginized archive and a smarter peat ai bot than the one that already live, including smart filtering and score for types of content creators, like peat content vs top forum members content while remove regular members opinions.
I also need to rebuild the content I generated from all the interviewsadd all Georgy interviews (because I trust him like in Peat)
BTW, you are M.C by chance Beacuse his ingenious content made me exposed to Peat
-
If the forum comes back online, how would one take a backup of it?
-
@revenant Backups already exist.
-
@Peatful Niacin and Niacinamide are B3 but 2 different substances and Georgi Dinkov said it many times that Niacin can cause issues
-
@sharko a wonderful project. Thank you for your help.

Well this is something at least. Whether or not he's telling the truth about why it's down, he's announcing it will return...at some undisclosed point. And there is the fact Dallas was hit pretty hard with some brutal weather recently. So he's probably telling the truth.

Just wondering from the cheap seats. Any rumblings about Vitamin A deficiency being linked to Antisocial and Narcissistic Personality Disorders (n=1)....?
(couldn't help myself)

Yeah, but how were they taken? Importing the posts into something resembling a forum would make it easier to use.
-
@sharko heroic moves, sharko. I thought I should throw something out to you I've noticed...
My best research of the RPF was actually googling:
"[topic] [topic] [relative concerns] [etc] site:raypeatforum.com"What this did was pull up any comment with the relative conversation, taking me to a direct page discussing something like drug combo adverse reactions -- which can save hours of time for some of those 50 page research heavy threads!
Basically, a Thread Title doesn't include in it's name all the topics discussed that could be very relevant to that thread in certain contexts.
This leads me to believe that keyword searches of comments within threads are often more valuable than thread title keyword searches alone!
If you wanted to add such capacity someday, I think it would be of immense value.
Thanks

@LetTheRedeemed This is excellent and the truth is that this is the way I search in the forum or any other website
Smart use of Google search makes you a super researcher and use Google search engine inside a website is also good, but today with the AI embedding tech, you can get a far more insane abilities.
-
@sharko nice - can't wait!
maybe I missed some of the features, but the other RPF archive left a lot to be desired in searchability - look forward to your contributions to humanity!
