On rhinitis and how to medicate it
-
I've had some sort of rhinitis my entire life and Im planning on beggining a pro-metabolic lifestyle and want to know if I can drop nasal decongestants for something else, as I've been recommended by a cardiologist family member to stop using it.

Hopefully someone with more direct experience can chime in, but in the meantime check out this thread to see if it's applicable to you in any way.

And at the very least it couldn't hurt i would think.
Edit: and your solution may rely on what's causing the inflammation to begin with, allergenic/non allergenic rhinitis etc. Have you ever gone for any allergy testing? It may not be pollen either btw.

my only allergy until it totally went away with my improved metabolism after going cold turkey pufa for 4 years and staying this way continuing my cold turkey pufa lifestyle.
Only came back when I became acidic taking magnesium chloride supps for 3 months and stopped taking mag chloride after realizing the connection and the rhinitis went away for good.

I have used NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) to help with springtime allergies. It also helps with inflamation in the lung and nasal passages.

@DavidPS
Come to think of it, i know one fellow in my own circles that swears by NAC for similar reasons; nasal passage sensitivity to many things including plants and pets.My only concern with long term NAC use is will it get to the root of the actual problem where it's use can eventually be tapered off. At the very least the OP may be able to begin breathing through his nose for proper CO2 and the benefits it will eventually bring.
Don't mind me thinking aloud...

@BioEclectic - It may be good enough to try.
