Her period cramps are terrible, had to leave work early today after vomiting. She can't have dairy and Progest-e makes her very suspicious. Any other recommendations?

For nausea, pure lemon essential oil will work. Smelling it will do! ... but can also use topically on a non-sensitive area diluted in olive or coconut oil.

For the cramps, the herb called cramp bark aka Viburnum opulus aka guelder rose. You can buy tincture extracts of it aka traditional herbalist preparation.

        • Menstrual Cramps/PMS
According to a study published in the "Journal of Medicinal Chemistry", the antispasmodic properties of Cramp Bark are due to the presence of the coumarin derivative, scopoletin. It also contains volatile oils that help to soothe and relax the uterine cramps so commonly associated with the menstrual cycle. The bark also contains methyl salicylate which is a weak acting precursor to the salicylic acid that is used in aspirin, but much less irritating to the gastric mucosa than over the counter medications, making it beneficial for pain too.

According to contemporary herbalists, Cramp Bark will not stop the symptoms of period pains by altering the body’s chemical pain signalling system (like analgesic drugs), instead it helps to treat the cause of the pain by releasing tension in the area the pain is coming from . For this reason it can be useful to use dose “little and often” until the cramping subsides. There is some anecdotal evidence that Cramp Bark can significantly improve menstrual migraines, possibly due to its ability to relax the muscles of the neck and upper back.

The astringent action of Cramp Bark also helps to slow down heavy menstrual bleeding and especially bleeding associated with the menopause.
        ...
Taking Cramp Bark in conjunction with magnesium is recommended by many herbalists. This is due to the symptoms of magnesium deficiency manifesting as cramps and muscle spasms.

          Menstrual Cramps/PMS

100 mg B1 has proved to be efficient when suffering from PMS.

Comment: More efficient when taken just before. Morning or midday, right before eating.
There are other things to take into account to optimize:

          • magnesium bisglycinate 300 mg x 2 or 3 (with food).
          • zinc if not eating red meat (15 mg)
          • gingimber could be tried: 250 mg extract (powder) at the beginning of the period, then every 6 hours.
          • Ibuprofen is the only AINS to fucntion (against prostaglandins). every 4 hours during 2 or 3 days. 4 times a day. But it's going to overload the kidneys. A hot water bottle could do just as well.
No aspirin (fluidity exacerbated) (unless you take Vit K1)

@raytreats aspirin has always helped me. For immediate acute pain relief during the day nothing quite tops a solonpas lidocaine patch

"Headaches, PMS and period cramps are all signs of hormonal imbalance. I have found that something as simple as establishung healthy levels of Vitamin E can support the elimination of these symptoms; working as an estrogen antagonist, progesterone precursor and a major antioxidant, especially in the uterus tissue. "

"1 gram of aspirin with K2, a huge dollop of Progest E Complex (bio-identical progesterone and Vitamin E), and 1 ml (5 grams) of Methylene Blue, along with sweet sweet coffee with Guernsey cow milk, and it’s all gone in 15 minutes."

Has she tried the carrot salad or maybe Vitex to balance her hormones? Also, if you don’t mind, can you share what her diet looks like? Diet can greatly affect our cycle so perhaps tweaking her diet will resolve her PMS.
