How to get rid off the mold?
-
Idk if this is the right place to ask but Peaters do talk sometimes about mold toxicity so I thought maybe some of you figured out how to remove?
No can’t move out, no I can’t tear up anything. I have to use a bathroom with a black moldy ceiling till I’m 30, at least. Yes it visible but even if it wasn’t, mold toxicity symptoms are obvious in my whole family.
We tried removing paint layers from the parts of the wall where mold grew but it would come back in no time so Idk what to do and all the advice on the internet seems comical

@Njegos One thing you can try is to put a cup of organic Vinegar (one that has the mother culture in it not cheap white vinegar) and leave it out to fume. The idea is you are introducing a competing organism. You could even spray the area with it, but it is acidic so it may damage paint etc.
Meanwhile use a binder internally to help your system catch it and get it out. Things like charcoal and fulvic/humic acids, etc.

Keep the air on the low end of tolerable humidity levels, ie if the tolerable range is 40 to 60, then set a dehumidifier to give you 40 percent humidity.
Also helps to have a good fine HEPA filter.
And then have a good essential oil diffuser with a good antifungal blend such as those with esters such as lavender, Clary sage, geranium, and Roman chamomile. But be certain to check that your pets are not sensitive to them.
You can try spraying copper acetate solution into the walls and see if you can kill the molds.

I don’t know much about mold, but I would say:
keep your bathroom as dry as possible, 30-50% humidity level. Avoid hot showers to avoid steaming up the room, but regardless, you could remove the moisture from the walls after the steam has settled. Get a mold resist shower curtain, because mold can also grow on shower curtains. Regularly paint the ceiling with anti mold paint, if you have tiles on the walls, seal the grout lines every 6 months. Use a hepa air purifier. If you don’t have an exhaust, keep the door open after showers. Shower in the gym or somewhere else if possible. -
@Njegos
Air flow. Open a window/door
Vinegar then preventative paint
Dehumidifier (a good one)
You could replace the ceiling to 'start again'
Look into replacing it with something that you can wipe
Take the time everyday to do these things
Keep wet flannels and towels out of there
Get good mops and cloths to dry off surfaces after using the shower
Keep toilet seat down. Also it actually takes very little time and water to effectively shower. Turn the shower on, wet body all over. Turn shower off, wash, rinse off. I can do it in one minute if not washing my hair.

It's not the mold spores that make you sick it's the mycotoxins they produce. They aren't alive, you need to remove them. When you disturb the mold it will put out more mycotoxins. Diffusing essential oils and propolis and taking binders might be the best thing to mitigate the health effects. Most bathrooms are moldy.
