Peaty answers of course would be experimenting with vit k, glycine, aspirin, progest-e, thyroid, and b vitamins like thiamine.

Well seen (+ niacinamide 10 mg 2 days a week).
Need K2 and vit E (100 mg) one another day.
When I have hemorrhoid, I use essential oils in mix with oil and organic silicium (G5)

I have an on and off hemorrhoid issue that i can clear up pretty consistently by megadosing gelatin powder. 60 grams dissolved in oj before bed for a day or two usually clears it up.

            Here are some suggestions

            1. Epsom salt bath, use plenty - expect some stinging if the area is irritated
            2. Bioflavanoids like Rutin in large doses like 2-3 grams will stop any bleeding that is due to tissue integrity factors (eat more fruit and veg) I like Rutin better than Quercetin since it seems to be absorbed better.
            3. Use a squirt bottle with Saline after BM's and avoid excessive wiping which causes micro abrasions and leads to inflammation. Avoid bleached commercial TP if at all possible. Use good defecating posture - we evolved squatting.
            4. Walking. Work up to 5 miles a day. High intensity is not needed but you must move lymph and the calf muscles do a lot of this work.

That is quite a bit of gelatin. Does that give you any digestive issues? I've been making Jello, using Now brand gelatin, and at much less of an amount I feel it messes with my gut and digestion, causing constipation.

It would be interesting to know how you got to such a large amount, Did you try lesser amounts prior to the 60 grams?

@Mossy got the idea from someone on the old forum who was talking about doing the same thing for hemorrhoids and having really good results. I tried smaller amounts and found that 50 to 60 grams is most effective. you'd be getting 15-20 grams of glycine with that much gelatin, which is a big contributor to its anti-inflammatory effects, plus your GI tract is comprised of collagen so it only makes sense to supplement for GI healing.

don't really get any constipation issues with it, but i think i have really good motility. maybe some cascara with it for increased peristalsis could help?

@samson did you ever read anything negative about taking strait glycine?

I know Peat was generally anti isolated amino supplementation, but glycine has such powerful anti-inflammatory effects…

@LetTheRedeemed I'd imagine taking that much isolated glycine would irritate your gut. other amino acids in gelatin are also antiinflammatory.

"Some types of cell damage are prevented almost as well by alanine and proline as by glycine, so the use of gelatin, rather than glycine, is preferable, especially when the gelatin is associated with its normal biochemicals. For example, skin is a rich source of steroid hormones, and cartilage contains “Mead acid,” which is itself antiinflammatory." -peat

I appreciate the additional detail and suggestion. I've been thinking of cascara recently, but like with all supplements, I get negative effects. Maybe I'll try it in a tea form. Thank you.

Here is a quote I have from Peat in my notes. Of all isolated amino acids, he considers glycine safe.

It's worth mentioning that I don't feel well on it, but I know many others do.

“I don’t think it’s very safe to use individual amino acids, glycine is the only one I know of that is safe by itself because it can be used as energy”

@samson fyi I had to quit Now foods gelatin, because I would keep getting hemorrhoid flareups from them. I believe I looked pretty far into their company and got no confirmation whether or not they used silica in their production. I've had no such issues with great lakes gelatin.

let us know if you ever bother and find anything different about them.

It's crazy tho, within days of quitting now brand I would feel better
