All of that indicates me that I might be developing schizophrenia given that there's a 20-50% change of doing so after a first weed-induced psychotic episode

            @randomname Hello there, I believe I had an experience similar to yours

            Hallucinations, sleep issues, episodes lasting 20-30 minutes, destroyed mental clarity, lack of short term memory.
            These weed strains can trigger a cascade of issues. Who knows what they are sprayed/ treated with.

            It sounds like you are in an elevated stress state. If you are in a state of chronically elevated cortisol, you will become more sensitive to serotonin and also dopamine. When your neurons are in stress mode, they become reliant on glutamate for energy, an excitatory neurotransmitter, and without proper inhibition this will cause degeneration. It is the excitatory inhibitors, GABA, Orexin, that will oppose this over-excitatory response, but in a elevated stress state they will not be adequately expressed. Without the relevant action of these inhibitors, glutamate overload will result in excitotoxic cell death, excess serotonin and dopamine will be unopposed.
            So it is my theory that when you have these constantly elevated levels of excitatory substances, dopamine, 5ht, glutamate, and you eventually run out of energy to oppose them, it causes these episodes where your brain becomes overloaded with serotonin and dopamine which causes the psychosis type symptoms. For me this went from 30 minutes episodes occasionally to extended periods daily. I would become non-functional, extremely confused, eventually started having hallucinations. As I put myself in a state of chronic stress from starvation.

            What is important is to provide yourself with the necessary energy when you are in a sensitive state.
            If you are running into problems during sleep, this would suggest to me you are likely running out of glucose during the night, which I'm guessing could be triggering these episodes you mention.
            How much do you eat every day?
            Do you experience issues after eating?
            Blood sugar spikes/ crashes?
            If you are hypothyroid, this will be exacerbating wasteful energy and lack of blood sugar regulation, again not providing brain needed energy. Intestinal inflammation will increase serotonin and histamine release.

              This makes a lot of sense. Those episodes of shakiness mostly happened when I was taking nicotinic acid, and I read it lowers blood glucose.

              I notice a crash after breakfast. I also digest most food poorly and usually evacuate about an hour after eating.
              The worst symptoms happened when I ate gluten by mistake — seems like I have a really strong gut-brain connection or an impaired blood-brain barrier.

              HOMA-IR: 1.65
              Glycemia: 89 mg/dL
              Red Blood Cell Count: 5,260,000 /mm³
              Eosinophils: 11% → Confirmed eosinophilia
              (This is always elevated in my bloodwork; doctors usually say it’s due to allergies.)

              A couple of questions if you don't mind answering:
              -What would you recommend I eat or avoid? (Or could you walk me through what you eat in a day?) Including supplements.
              I’m currently taking:
              Aspirin 500 mg – every other day
              Creatine 5 g – in the morning
              Magnesium bisglycinate 40 mg + L-theanine 150 mg – at night
              -Is there a way to reverse or prevent further neuron degeneration?
              -What's your opinion on the Abram Hoffer protocol?

              Side note I live 2 floors above a 5g tower - though I will be moving soon

                For example yesterday I ate:
                Breakfast: Coffee with raw cacao powder and cream + scrambled eggs with cheese + sliced carrot
                Lunch: Stake + rice
                Evening: OJ and banana
                Dinner: Stake + potatoes

                  fix stress as priority. excitotoxic cell death will only occur when neurons are strained. Your cortisol is high. until you sort this and the SIBO out you are playing a hide and seek game with what foods you are 'sensitive' to IMO. intestinal inflammation/ SIBO will also be increasing cortisol and stress response. look into how to fix that. try glycine and spoonful of sugar at night to prevent crash. cyproheptadine will help histamine and cortisol. you need to eat properly to stop reliance on cortisol. you will crash after breakfast because blood glucose is lowest when you wake up. if you're hypothyroid it will be hard to maintain stable blood sugar. You said you take T4, do you feel anything on it?

                  just focus on eating enough food at regular times and not crashing. If you have celiac disease and SIBO idk what to advise in terms of specifics.

                  I've not heard of this but avoid high doses of B vitamins until more stable. they will increase energy demand and if you're hypothyroid this will just make you crash more.

                        Quick update, I've improved slightly since I started consistently supplying myself with glucose (OJ, fruits, coke) multiple times through the day, and adding 1tsp of gelatin to oj and coffee

                        Not really, I've been taking it for 10~ years, I've tried multiple times to get prescribed T3 but my doctor won't allow it stating that TSH of 2.5 is normal

                          @randomname You mention uncontrollable shaking at night. Peat speaks a lot about hyperexcitability of cells. This is what is responsible for phenomenon like seizures and cramps and could be occuring in your case. He has said that the body is more susceptible to excitability at night due to darkness, stress hormones, lack of glycogen in liver. Search bioenergetic.life website.

                          A basic protective factor is bio-identical progesterone (not the prescription progestins).

                          After trying a lot of basic approaches if you still have issues consider looking into the book by Jack Dreyfus "A Remarkable Medicine Has Been Overlooked". He had uncontrollable fear, worries, excessive uncontrollable thoughts, depression. He resolved it by taking an old antiepileptic drug called Dilantin. It is relatively Peaty.

                          Do not worry too much about developing schizophrenia or "going crazy". Do you have anhedonia?

                            One more question

                            You talked about the negative effects of darkness.
                            So, I was wondering. If someone is a night owl and he spends his night time with a good incandescent light turned on, drinking and eating some sugary stuff, calcium, sodium etc - would the negative effects of darkness be diminished in any way?

                            RP: Yes, even intermittent bright light can reduce the damage.
