He also did a complete 180 on avoiding calcium and now multiple forum members are talking about drinking milk and saying Vitamin A isn't all that bad after all. he destroyed the most informative health forum on the internet over a temporary fad

well well well, he wanted to to remove georgie store on the forum and sell his own supplements

well well well, might have thought he gotta find a "good reason" to remove haidut store from the forum and start selling his own pills

@energy-structure I haven’t logged in here for a while - I was not aware of all that about the filmmaker! Interestingly he just got (re)married this year. Must have some connections to get written up in the NYT.
          https://archive.is/B1MkQ

I agree he’s a suspicious character (the other guy not so much)... maybe the whole filming tour was some sort of fact finding mission and there was no real intention of producing a documentary at all. Remember they met in person with Ray’s most dedicated followers all over the world, some people even did interviews (I did not).

It’s funny, the filmmakers were the ones who told me about Ray’s home being broken into multiple times and the mess that always be made of all his papers and books. I can’t remember how they knew that. And also said how Ray was extremely reluctant to agree to meet them at all, I believe he only gave in because of how much his “followers” wanted the film to happen. They also said they had conversations with Haidut about how the RPF was “monitored” - not sure who knew this or how (but I think that probably was true).

But that meeting happened around 2016 if I remember correctly? He didn’t die until 2022. And he was 86.

Probably a reasonable assumption to make about any widely accessible publication, on or offline. I doubt these ones are that concerning to federales. Twitter's definitely worse.

@ThinPicking Yes so they can control the narrative and even blackwash it once it goes mainstream. The things we were discussing on RPF 10 years ago are only now making the rounds on Twitter etc. Maybe it was organic , maybe not. Garrett Smith certainly did a lot of damage, as does that Veronica person. Opposition to seed oils is now associated with MAGA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seed_oil_misinformation You have to laugh.

Were they trying to steal his materials? Or, were these just average criminals?

"Opposition to seed oils has been associated with the political right. Maya Vinokour, an assistant professor at NYU, writing for Jacobin, described the belief as "lifestyle fascism" and "right-wing masculinist discourse".[7]"

Charlie could just be a plant, that's how it works. Misleading people, diluting the message, eventually burying it.

It's been a consistent strategy for thousands of years. I was a forum member in the beginning but got banned quite fast. I miss the peatarian forum, that's how it should be. Open, curious, free.

A gigantic BLOO man from deep space runs this forum. Anything's possible I guess.

The rational expose and giga conspiracy angles are already in this thread.

There's always going to be two kinds of conversation going on. You can hear them if you sit in a pub and listen.

Type 2. Its antithesis may also be type 2.

Typically reserved for a vacuum. Funnily enough.

@heyman Peatarian was the best! those were the days.

I do find it hard to believe it’s the same Charlie, how is it possible he kept his fundie religion stuff under wraps so long? Did lack of vitamin A cause some sort of mental breakdown post covid or did they swap him out.

Anyway whatever happened they did succeed. The URL may have changed but Ray’s name is still attached to that forum under the guise of this failed “low toxin” movement. If I was an outsider just learning about Ray now, I would dismiss him based on that forum.

But years ago when people were talking on other forums about how obnoxious he was, somebody talked about his father and posted and all the kooky metaphysical ideas he was into. Just completely insane stuff. I think it's simply a case of the apple not falling far from the tree. Nobody born to someone like that is coming out normal.

I think Charlie's personality could of course be separate from an effort to undermine Peat. Charlie has just got cocky now that Peat has departed and thinks he can slander him anyway he wants without the authority of Peat's own responses putting him back in his box. It's all behavior characteristic of a BPD person- sneaky, bitchy, underhanded, dishonorable, dishonest etc
