@lykos in Schopenhauer's era (and our era -- basically the last 200 years), honor was an aristocratic relic, who's relavence was (and is) being perpetually encroached upon by liberalism, such that it only exists in backwater parts of the west today.
You should go to places and times where honor is enforced with culturally approved patriarchal martialism, and compare its homosexuality rates with places where there is no honor enforcement (the economic zones sitting attop the various Western cultural relics, like a big city).

This is not intended to be a perfect prescription, some cultures suck -- like Muslim ones. Also, in the Middle East at least, they have a TON of gay dudes. I know some Arabs who are completely disillusioned by Islam because of it. After Ramadan, they can sin again, so they all go out and have gay sex.
Extreme lack of self-confidence and personal authority, makes weak men lash out at the weak around them. This is why muslims are so abusive to women, and have such high gay rates. This is the inversion of the honor culture. It's why a pilot berates his copilot for no good reason and the copilot would rather not embarrass him than prevent the plane from crashing into the ground. It's why the caste system in some of these places suck so bad, with no real fruit to show for it. It's physically stronger people lashing out at weaker people to feel good about themselves, as a means of legitimizing their power and authority. There's a lot of commentary on this of some of the worst offenders in Eastern cultures (like the Arab and Indian ones).
This is ironically a good segway, to what I think you're adjacent or sympathetic to: the psycho-homosexual on the right spectrum, Andrew Tate style, who having had the embilical cord to the ancient ways cut by modernity, wonder adrift, looking for a form of masculinity, which turns into projecting power as a means of legitimacy.
Working out and beating up people you don't like and dunking on weak people like women is your outlet. The leftwing version of this is faggotry.

Honor is enforced today as in the past, it simply changed into good goy honor, the aristocrats and their values changed so did the definition honor. Tate and many other masculinity copers embody the ancient virtu of masculinity which is materialistic and competitive. Manliness to them is whatever pleasures women best that's why they show off with bling.
For me real masculinity and "honor" is being true to yourself and being individualistic and free as Nietzsche rightfully diagnosed , creating your own values and morals, disregarding society and the made up law, culture values, ideals, dumb definitions of honor that serve other peoples interest.
