@Mulloch94 Yes I did, even though it has been a long time since. It's not really a supplement, I agree. The weird thing is that I feel like I'm getting leaner now that I'm reducing my intake and upping salt. I don't force anything down my throat anymore, but I still consume 2800-3000 kcal a day I would think. I consumed 3400-3600 a few months ago. When I did, I felt like I overdid it a little bit. All the craze about eating more made me want to try eating more in combination with more thyroid. I'm about 6 ft (182 cm) and weigh 175 lbs (79.5 kg). I am active, I walk around 10.000-14.000 steps every day and do some moderate weight lifting. I still feel very warm all day and don't have cold fingers any more. The NDT might have supressed my own thyroid production, because I had cold fingers more often. It was winter time, but still. I had some muscle cramps when introducing high salt, but since I downed my ndt it went away... I really want to include some form of thyroid in my diet, like Ray suggested, but I'm just not sure on how to do it.

@Mulloch94 Well, I just want to take a break from using supplements to be honest. I don't want to depend on them and am curious how I'll feel if I don't use anything at all. I might return to ndt, if I notice some negative effects. Mike Fave did a great job explaining that your body will be better at making thyroid once you're healthier. It might take a little time to get back, but I don't feel like I really need ndt anymore. I've always been healthy, prior to my college years where I gained some weight. I've almost lost all that gained weight and I'm just curious what will happen to be honest. I've been using a lower dose for a few weeks now and have not noticed any negative effects. What I really find strange is that I feel like I'm losing weight faster with the lower dosage, but that could be because I'm not forcing myself to eat when I'm not that hungry anymore. I have found a place where I'm eating whenever I'm hungry and on days with more stress I eat some extra fruit and salt. Point being that I don't know how effective my NDT was in the first place, because it's just a supplement from a company in the Netherlands (where I live), just freeze dried beef thyroid with some beef liver. They said it has thyroid hormones in it, but I don't know if it's the same amount every time. So that could be the reason why I feel like I can try without it.

@Mulloch94 My cravings for salt have always been high, since I can remember. I've always prefered salty foods so sweet foods. Since I upped my salt intake I feel warmer and need to drink less water. I've done baking soda in the past, but I find salt easier to consume. I've been on ndt since november, but cycling off right now to see where I'm at. My body weight is healthy and I'm getting leaner each month, the salt really helps with that. Eating salt flakes instead of table salt really makes things easy. The flakes are crunchy and I put it on top of everything. I suggest putting some in honey. I don't crave normal table salt, because I find the taste way too salty. Putting some sea salt in orange juice is also very nice, really calms you down.

@Mulloch94 I've been doing high salt now since I started this thread. I don't know how much salt, but I think it's about 10 to 13 grams a day. I feel great on it. I'm losing body weight (not just water) and I don't retain as much water as I used to. I just add how much I crave. If I overdo it I'll get a headache or just don't feel as good. I mix it with my fat free greek yogurt and put some honey on top. My sleep has improved a lot as well..

@CO3 Would his conclusion be something like that there is free will in a given conditional framework? I've heard ray talk about energy being a ordering agent, something that shapes the chaos. I like that idea, but I wouldn't understand where the given order comes from. Free will of consciouss agents could be place there I suppose. Ray doens't seem like a pure materialist to me, I would not place him in the same catogery as Dawkins. I suspect my lack of understanding what opponents of free will would describe as free will and it being a fake paradigm would come down to the same problem.

@Truth I get your point, but the question I have still remains I guess. God would be outside of time and who knows what that means exactly. The fact that god would be able to know our actions, wouldn't mean we did not use our authentic agency to decide what to do. The question of free will, I think, is ultimately the question of is our agency real or a dillusion. Meaning are we merely observers of a dream like state, or are we actively involved in making choices and have influence in outcomes. The fact that the past and present can influence the future isn't the same as that the future always deterministically follow, as is the believe of Sir Roger Penrose. I like to involve ray's ideas into it more, because his view on energy has some real value. The real question could be asked a different way as wel; can our consciousness actively order the chaos of possibilities that lies in the future? The ordering agency of our consciousness seems to make sense, if you look at quantum machenics (latest nobel prize winners etc). I just don't really understand what materialists mean with free will being an illusion, because I really can't understand what they would classify as free will then.

@Not_James_Bond Yes I know, I believe I'm especially prone to that. Alcohol has a stimulating and sedative effect at the same time for me. I don't drink often, tonight will be the first time in 2 months. You're right though.

@CO3 Thx! Getting my hands on some progest-e isn't easy, since I live in Europe. I try to avoid beer as much as possible, as I almost never drink nowadays and often opt for bourbon of vodka. Some of my study related events only serve beer and wine, so wine would be the better option then? Any opinion on white vs red wine?

Recovery from drinking beer
I don't drink often anymore, but have in the past. In the first few years of university I drank quite a lot. I get some of the worst hangovers now that I am a bit older (24). If I drink nowadays it's for social events/reasons. What would be an optimal routine to make sure you minimize the estrogenic effects of beer? I feel like it makes me puffy for a few days every time I drink some. I'm planning to use some vit b1, b3, b6, macuna pruriens, coconut oil, aspirin, lysine and taurine. Any other recommendations?

I've had knee pain my whole life, but am now free of it. I switched to barefoot shoes and after a while of adjusting, my pain just went away. I like barefoot shoes a lot, because you feel more connected with the ground/world.

Dopamine is essential for health and the reduction of prolactin. The source of your dopamine could be a problem, but going on a dopamine fast isn't always a good idea. You get dopamine from getting closer to a set goal, so set some goals and get working on achieving those. That would be a more healthy source of dopamine for sure.

Free Will
One of the age old questions is the question of free will. I can't see how anyone could deny the existence of free will, personally. Not because I can't see the arguments against it having any merit, they certainly have merit at some level. I just can't imagine at what point the opponents of free will would say free will would be real. What would be free will, if it wasn't for what we have right now? It just seems way to easy to just discard the whole idea of people having free will, because thoughts pop up in our head and we don't actively think them. To give it a more energy focussed twist; you seem to think more clearly and better if you have good metabolism. If free will wouldn't exist, thinking would not exist, because thinking itself indicates the conscious consideration of an agent. Would love to see some insights on this and if anyone could couple it to ray's ideas more I would be thrilled.

@MostlyCurious I'm no expert on this, so it might be beneficial someone else could confirm/deny this. But may a higher copper intake reduce oxidative stress? I know mineral balance is essential and copper is known to fight oxidation.
