who talks about food like that?

Nate Lawrence told me that exact sentence a couple months ago. So Nate Lawrence.

Ignore all of these supplement-pharmaceutical-death industry brainwashed people here and make the Master Broth and have more of it than you would of any other protein source. would you eat dried steak from a sketchy supplement company?

Dont have the space to do this right now.

Just eat food it's not super easy but it's not too hard either. just try it once.

Yes I agree that food is a better source of nutrients I laid off of most supplements now.

OK? who is that even? i barely remember this guy, definitely don't remember him contributing anything useful.

eating lamb instead of beef is a better recommendation if cooking is not too scary for example. as it has a better ratio of amino acids.

cooking gelatinous cuts like ox tail (not in a broth), or making dishes using other cuts of meat that include connective and joint tissues would be another way of doing this if cooking is an option.

if cooking for whatever reason is hard especially time-intensive dishes -as it can certainly be for a variety of reasons - then i would still kindly suggest finding the 20-30 minutes work and 2-3h idle time it would require to make something like my broth because it will provide you with up to two weeks of lots and lots of gelatin that has many applications.

of course that could still be hard to find the time or space for, or you could not have the energy for it. in that case the collagen powder would be good (for someone that is not eager to save any money). Certainly one of the better proteins available should not be limited to 3-6 tablespoons. I think this shoul point itself out? Does anyone get what i'm saying here? That this is not a micronutrient. tis is like talking about one of the better forms of a macronutrient?

@CO3 I'm thinking of mostly just drinking it. I might make a broth & chug it from a flask tbh...

No you won't. Be a fucking human being.

I think he had a lot of gut issues and healed it. He mostly attributes his success to beef gelatin.

Thanks for the rest of the advice.

Probably about 1/3rd of your protein should come from gelatinous sources. I don't really know how much this would translate over into pure gelatin packets. I get most of my glycine from oxtail or hamburger, or pressure cooking chicken carcasses. I usually have oxtail daily in my fridge to heat up for dinner, and if I don't I just turn to hamburger, or drink chicken broth with dinner. I don't feel the need to track my glycine intake because I just intuitively know I'm getting enough. I basically never eat muscle meats anymore, bidenomics has made it too expensive 🤣

In terms of pure gelatin, it seems like the 3-6 tbsp recommendations is probably pretty accurate. Unless you're just eating a ton of protein daily. Or milk. For peaters the milk is probably the biggest source of tryptophan. The calcium does help some, Ray mentioned it helps convert the tryptophan to niacin.

You might would be interested in following this thread as well. If you restrict your protein intake your gelatin requirement won't be all that high.

What about homemade jello? Some people don’t like using powdered gelatin, but if it agrees with you, gelatin, sugar, and juice are all that is needed. Set it in the fridge to cool, and slice chunks of it off at each meal. I love it before bed with ice cream, (or if I’m lowering fat intake, with some fruit and cheese).

Gelatin has to me a slaughterhouse smell, which collagen doesn’t, so I only use collagen.I suspect gelatin is loaded with endotoxins.

if you have a sulfite sensitivity, then you should avoid gelatin completely.

Only Yanks could ever talk about food this way. Instantly assuming the person is referencing some terrible industrial form of it. In some ways you guys are less than human.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I’m referencing Knox brand which is supposedly a top brand.

@Ecstatic_Hamster You know gelatin is like. from animals right? it's as much a supplement as 'steak'.

@CO3 gelatin production is from skin and results in massive endotoxins. Collagen is refined and seems better to me. When I make gelatin gummies they smell like a rendering plant.
