I want to say that genetics are crucial

With all due respect to you alex there's another malleable target upstream of this malleable target. Keep reading.

Grant is parked and subject to the weather.

@ThinPicking Regarding Grant and his vitamin A toxicity - it's all complete nonsense!

Yes, you can overdose on it from supplements, or from the liver, but I don't believe that it's a toxin

Not for you and I. But for his state and angle of approach it's probably not nonsense. There are worse or at least swifter outcomes than aging.

Further it's probably a mistake to assume its resonance with some other people is entirely a product of their stupidity. We're all flying blind and picking up scars after all. For now.

there is an opinion that the guy, having given up most products, reduced the oxalate load on the kidneys... this is what helped him, and not the reduction in vitamin A

If that's the case then these measures should be successful:

                • generous P5P backed up by sufficient other B-vitamin cofactors for reduction of endogenous oxalic acid,
                • speeding up of GI transit (if constipation) by any tolerable means (beans? fibers?) to reduce GI contact time which could exacerbate imflammation and translocation,
                • clearing the root cause of GI mucosal inflammation / GI barrier disruption which allows for increased exogenous oxalic acid uptake,
                • adding 100-200mg of Ca or Mg to every meal to bind free oxalic acid in the GI lumen

Well , he eats lots of meat, he even said in one of his latest updates that he would go carnivore if he had to start over. Meat diet will age you quick.
He doesn't eat fruit so he lacks antioxidants and he commented against vit C.
Occasionally eating beans (once a week) is probably ok but they are full of antinutrients. ( comparing him with K Hurd)
Cutting out gluten in the beginning worked good for him, it fixed tight junction and improved skin.... I bet most people would cure their allergy on many foods (eggs..) after a couple weeks of gluten free.
What 's going to happen to Grant if he eats a carrot salad ? I bet - nothing , it would disprove carotene fear nonsense.
Anyway, he is sticking to his prisoner diet until the rest of his life ... Did his brain get rewired that tasty foods don't bring him any pleasure apart from being just some calories ?

do you think maybe this vitamin A is poison thing is just people coping with weak metabolisms and slow functioning liver

too much meat and beans can weaken metabolism. Slow functioning liver can happen from lack of choline and from being sedentary.

like maybe the normal person just processes and gets rid of retinols that are in excess and thats it
                    and these guys dont

Staying away from retinol supplements should be enough. Restricting foods because they naturally have carotene or retinoids is silly. Though leacky gut can do a number on some people.

the guy on the left has a huge head, his brain must have lots of processing power

Oh yes, that fella has a big head , no doubts 🙂

I dont agree on your first point about any diet making people look sick and emaciated

saladino is the only person I recognize in your list

They are all stars in nutritionism and as they aged they didn't stopped being sellable or marketable. Go figure...

maybe that attitude is why you think Saladino appears aging

Honestly , there is nothing special about Saladino , some people give him a credit for pushing alegedly 'peaty' ideas ..

@alex155 why are you picking on haidut? He has given so much to this community and I am sure he has also experimented with various things for the sake of this community and science. You should really show some respect instead of just bashing people by their looks. Some people are just not photogenic. I am sure in real life haidut would put you to shame.

He's sitting on "muh genetics", a lot of these attitudes line up.

Maybe you could do with a happy meal alex. Move along.

reading Haidut's articles is like listening to the recommendations of a dentist - no teeth, an endocrinologist - with hypothyroidism, or a nutritionist - with a weight of 150 kg...

all his recommendations and articles do not work on him.
Ray showed on himself that his diet works on him and he was an example to follow, Haidut is an anti-advertisement of Ray's diet.

Since you mentioned Saladino, Ive always been curious, is there a clear reason on why hes aging so fast? Maybe excess fat? Too much exercise? His diet seems pretty decent from the videos Ive watched

@alex155 so either you believe genetics is the main causal factor for how someone looks or ages, or "peating" should turn you into Dolph Lundgren. What are you trying to say? Why dont you post pictures of yourself and speak for countless hours about your views on diet and the world for the public to judge?

Ultimately, genetics is just the accumulation of your ancestors' environments and how they interacted with it, and the bioenergetic perspective asserts that you can make a meaningful shift in that accumulation of environments in a single generation with intelligent diet and particular hormonal or pharmacological interventions.

were really only on first generation peating for the time being, real peater ubermenchen will come later lol

@samson Well, look, I have familial hypercholesterolemia and 3 heart attacks, is it genetic? (yes, my grandfather and father died from this) Will peating help here? I doubt it...
although I have been doing this for 4 years already...
as I already wrote, there are people who can eat anything and live long and happily, without sitting on different diets and I personally know such people.
