@Jakeandpace I stopped worrying about PUFA content in (high-quality) eggs.

Following an intuitive eating program, I feelgood eating 3 eggs most days, occasionally 6 or 8, and occasionally none. Sometimes, I want three eggs per day for two weeks in a row. Sometimes I want considerably more, and sometimes I don't want any. Sometimes I skip 2, 3 or 4 days in a row. I probably average 2 to 3 per day most months.

Having tried strict PUFA restriction and PUFA-depletion diet for several multi-month periods in my early days of following Peat, I don't think it was a net positive for me. Maybe it helped recalibrate some things that needed adjusting in those early years (10-7 years ago). Peat said PUFA depletion would take 3 years. The fast-PUFA-depletion threads at RPF suggested that PUFA depletion in 6 months was possible. Maybe I didn't persist for long enough. I'm strict about seed oils but looser and looser (with positive effects) about PUFA from eggs. Keen to hear what others think.

Is there anyway to get around the serotonin symptoms of eggs?

I also think it lowers my blood sugar significantly.

I can't seem to have them in the morning because they make me incredibly tired.

When eating more than 2.5 g leucine, it must be balance with glycine.
One egg brings a lot of leucine and methionine. Two excitatory amino acids.
0.5 to 0.6 gr leucine per egg.
Ray Peat has said many times that even much smaller doses of PUFA are carcinogenic. This study agrees and says that human equivalent doses of as low as 5g - 7g also increased inflammatory biomarkers and are considered carcinogenic.
About PUFA in excess (more than 5-7 gr):
Dietary glycine significantly blunted the rapid activation of NF-κB caused by corn oil, by 75–80%.

I recently experienced that just a little more PUFA can make a tremendous difference. I usually eat one whole egg per day, and for about two weeks I started eating 3. One morning I was suddenly horrified because I noticed a black spot on one of my finger where there had only been clear skin before. It looked like a cancerous mole. When I checked the rest of my body, I saw that there was another black spot on one of my moles on my chest. After I while I remembered what Peat mentioned about lipofuscin and people getting age spots when they eat a lot of PUFA. Long story short: I stopped eating any eggs and cut out every source of PUFA, and after 3 days both black spots simply fell of, leaving a tiny dent. I'm pretty sure that the relatively small quantitiy of extra PUFA from the egg yolks caused some lipofuscin to accumulate and migrate to those two places on my skin.

A flat spot or a slight inflammation that has burst and oozed a +/- colorless liquid? If burst it's HPV (warts) killed by the immune system (papilloma virus).

it was not me, just an echo from another forum from @Amazoniac days.
I got inspired by Andrew Baird about power of eggs , it's been 2 - 3 weeks , I don't feel anything positive but lots of nasty unrelated symptoms: flu, itching, neck pain and more...

Sure eager-beavers will say - don't stop, these are signs of detoxification

Well, it's not quite the same philum but I guess it acts on the same way: Remaining under the radar system. So a sleepy spot, not dangerous, until one day it wakes up because your immune system is weaker.
To kill my spots (back, arm, leg), I went to a dermatolog practitionner (medicine Dr.).in order to let them killed with "a frozen gun" (cryotherapy).
When some spots got killed, I had several pimples of 2-3 mm, some larger. I used a iodine solution for disinfection, 30''. A bandage / adhesive tape for a few hours or overnight. Then clean with essential oil (harsh attack) (advised by pharma Dr Festy) with a cotton swab.

When it tickles, it means the immune system is killing them. But they've been jumping/dying one after the other for a week now. Luckily, I have L-theanine to calm me down (I'm nervous, I woke up last night). I'm also using 30 mg of zinc, 5,000 IU of vitamin D, and 100 mcg of selenium to boost/facilitate the immune response. (...)

Sorry for telling you my life story. But I had to give you something to read... 👼

have to stop eggs experiment (it was 1 or 2 per day). Symptoms are getting worse and worse.

Here is a good thread with testimonials :

I read somewhere recently that 4 is the daily upper limit for which you get most of the benefits, and going above it is not necessary at all. And that intuitively makes a lot of sense to me.
Also, Hans Amato has confirmed this on X.

As long I did'nt receive an explanation, RP, the King or the Holy Spirit may tell what they want.
An excess leucine - the egg is rich in leucine - must be balanced with glycine.
2.5 g leucine has an effect IGF-1 hormone. I try to optimize glycine when I eat 3 eggs. Most of the time no problem with 2 eggs. 2 or 3 times a week for me, to avoid triggering the immune system. 😉

Leucine, a branched-chain amino acid (BCAA), is a key nutritional regulator of protein synthesis. It activates the mTORC1 pathway, which in turn stimulates protein translation and can promote the synthesis of skeletal muscle IGF-1.

                                I cite:
The balance between the two amino acids ensures optimal health by allowing each to perform its specific functions without one overwhelming the other or revealing a conditional deficiency.
Leucine pushes the body towards anabolism (building up), while a lack of glycine can impair vital metabolic functions and potentially contribute to a catabolic (breaking down) state, particularly under stress or inflammation. The proper balance ensures that protein synthesis can be both effectively initiated (via leucine) and successfully completed and maintained (supported by glycine's role in collagen synthesis and reducing oxidative stress).

Mostly from collagen peptides (1 tsp per shake when I haven't eaten meat or when there're eggs at the menu or when I eat my salad with avocado and shrimps). To vary from bone broth but I have to limit broth since it's high in histamine reaction (H3).
