Consensus on a good Vitamin C source?

@wester130 Appreciate the input.

@jd_au As someone who is highly sensitive to all supplements, I've used this vitamin C in the past. No corn, soy, yeast, or wheat.

And not to sound too ridiculous, but I don't even remember how I last felt on it, for I haven't taken any supplements in a long time. Though, I do see in my order history I have purchased this one twice, which is very rare, that I got through a whole bottle of a supplement and needed to order it again.

@Mossy thanks v much for that. Looks similar to one I'm currently using. I also seem to do better on sodium ascorbate, esp if it's free of corm and ideally free of silica.

A bit confused about Ray's beliefs around vitamin C. He said we get a LOT more from our diet than we realise, because of unmeasured forms like dehydroascorbic acid. He said there are thousands of milligrams of vitamin C in fruit, fruit juice, milk and meat. This is how he got to his figure of 4 grams a day when he was having a lot of grapefruit juice. If you just go off standard measurements that only reference ascorbic acid, you'd need to drink 10+ litres of grapefruit juice a day to get to 4 grams.
My problem is, I've been on a high milk and fruit diet for years. But it was only when I started supplementing with additional vitamin C that my longstanding issue of blood in the nose and gums resolved (practically overnight). So it makes me think Ray may not have been entirely correct in his belief about the benefits of other forms of vitamin C?

Yes but Inuit could absorbate dehydroascorbid acid well for 2 reasons:
Meat wasn't cooked (or hardly). Not only musles. DHA in mainly in liver (...)
They didn't eat carb-rich food, so that the glucose pathway was free (Glut-1 transport). -
"when he was having a lot of grapefruit juice".
=> Not a good idea to drink so much grapefruit because it contains a molecule that impacts the detox patwhay (half-life)
One glas grapefruit is enough to counteract CYP450. It contains molecules such as bergamottin and 6',7'-dihydroxybergamottin. These molecules impact the body's metabolic detox pathways by irreversibly inhibiting CYP3A4, a key drug-metabolizing enzyme found in the small intestine and liver.
By shutting down / inhibiting / moderating the detox pathway, grapefruit allows much more of an oral medication to enter the bloodstream: it stays longer and turns round and round. So you get blood concentration spikes.
NB: Not a problem if you only eat one fruit (one fruit per week). No juice ! -

The problem is not vit C. it's the kind you use and the way you eat.
Molecular integrity.
Residues, even when labelled "natural" or plant based (acerola).
And by the way, for other readers, mind the kind of "vitamin C" powder you buy, without a certificate (HV and real AA). Fake AA is at least 50 % rubbish. I can give a link if interested. -
@LucH do u have link for 2g out of 10g absorption of glycine

I suppose you wanted the justification. Why so little...
Full answer here:
How much glycine absorbed with powder

In short:
The transporters are quickly saturated with 2 tsp glycine powder. -
@jd_au This is my experience as well. Dietary vitamin C does not seem to have the same effect as supplementation. Though, I can get digestive distress from supplementing and sometimes an overall malaise. Even so, I can clearly see and feel some benefits from supplemental vitamin C. Like better skin and energy.
