Yes. It was 10 years ago so I don't remember the details, but I do remember that I stopped because it had some very unpleasant side effect and I did not perceived any benefit at the time. Maybe I wasn't using it long enough.
Another event that made my issues permanently worse was a short period of taking SSRIs. I thought about mild serotonin syndrome. Serotonin is apparently one of the most active aldosterone-stimulating substances

Seems like crying, sweating, and salivating involve the fascia and the lymphatic system and the extracellular fluids. I would want to look into decongesting or draining the lymphatic system.
Since I know of no way to evaluate or test the health of the lymphatic system, it is something like a black box to us. Perhaps a practitioner of TCM can help shed light on it as the way they classify organs involve organs like the triple burner, which involves the mysentery to which our medical system lacks in studying.

I was never into TCM at all, but last week, I had a strange intuitive hunch that my issues might be related to some sort of energy imbalance, so I bought Unschuld's translation of Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen. Yes, I would not trust modern TCM practitioner and especially not western TCM practitioner.

Some kind of ORS substituting sodium chloride for sodium bicarb would probably straighten you out.

Hi ThinPicking! My fluid intake pattern is 200ml of warm/hot orange juice with 2g of salt every 2 hours. It contain plenty of glucose, sodium, potassium and chloride, so it is basically natural ORS. Have tried substituting salt for sodium bicarb but it caused milk alkali syndrome. I have been doing this consistently for over a year but I don't feel much better.
I'm eating mostly oatmeal and meats. My digestion is really screwed up, I'm not able to digest much else. Can you suggest some markers to keep an eye on, please?

This is tricky because there is apparently no test confirm or rule out low acetylcholine diagnosis, and the symptoms are very non-specific. That being said, I do have all the symptoms, including mild schizophrenia and extreme muscle weakness that worsens with exertion. I often had elevated ESR (and sometimes also ferritin) for no apparent reason since the earliest childhood. Also, I have experienced some improvements when supplementing choline.
Some of my relatives have the same symptoms I do. Maybe it would be worth to check for genetic errors predisposing to low acetylcholine?

i'm not super sure about the gene test thing but I agree that the symptoms are very vague and when you google it you kind of have those from both sides.
I just remember someone being very adamant about acetylcholine and saliva connection.
Have you tried increasing it with vitamin E and choline supplementation?

Just have placed an order for choline supplement. Vitamin E made things much worse when I took it without choline, should I try again in combination with choline? -

@BearWithMe Sounds like sjogrens, i would try GABA if can get it, for a few weeks. idk the sweat part isnt mentioned as much but its an autoimmune condition, so if its that maybe could damage sweat glands too

For many years my husband has been unable to sweat, even working outside in the heat of summer. His temperature always ran from 96.5 to 97.5... never reaching 98. He and his six siblings all have symptoms of hypothyroidism.
We found Dr Peat about 17 years ago, started drinking more milk and oj, stopped eating seed and nut oils, and even took thyroid for about 5 years. Temps were still in the dumpster and he still couldn't sweat. We began glucose therapy about 4 months ago. Lo and behold, his temps are now doing great... 98 in the AM to 99 in the PM. And he has actually started sweating for the first time in his life.
Everyone should try glucose therapy, at least for a few months. Glucose is as important to our health as water and oxygen. Many cannot process adequate glucose from carbs due to gut dysbiosis (which is often caused by the brain not getting enough glucose. It's a vicious spiral.) Glucose therapy is cheap (by comparison to most supplements) and it can't hurt you.

It sounds like the mentioned Sjögren's syndrome. For which there then could or should be auto-antibodies against your own cells. As in an elevated ANA titer, for example, and others.
I would want to look into the aldosterone+renin system, i.e. the lab measurements for those. And for oxalic acid in your urine over the course of 24hrs, whether that's elevated, along with urine osmorality and the usual basic parameters like pH, albumin etc.. And potassium iodide to benefit all those glands.
So I would want to know aldosterone, renin, oxalic acid (oxalate), basic urine panel, ANA, thyroid panel. And I would give potassium iodide and dextrose a try.

Wow, that's incredible! I'm very happy for your husband. It must have been terrible, I can't imagine doing hard work in summer while being unable to sweat. Recently I have realized that orange juice is causing some digestive issues for me. I was just looking for different source of sugars, so your advice came at perfect time. The science behind glucose loading seems sound, so why not? Have replaced OJ with glucose solution last week and it feels pretty good so far. Thank you very much, S. Holmes!@CrumblingCookie
Loading on supplemental choline did nothing, so ruling out / confirming Sjögren's will be the next course of action. Will do the tests you suggested. Thank you! -
Well, you’re clearly hypothyroid… if I were you I would try some B vitamins, especially thiamine since it’s not very abundant and it gets depleted when oxidizing sugar. Maybe you could get tested for toxic metals, just in case. I suppose you’re already getting enough minerals from food…

Thank you. I gave that a lot of thought, because yes, I do have many (all?) symptoms of hypothyroidism. But I suspect that hypothyroidism is not the root cause, rather it is a protective mechanism. Possibly to spare some nutrients via lowered metabolism?When I try to stimulate / support thyroid, my teeth randomly crack, crumble and fall apart for no apparent reason. I have lost many healthy teeth. Supplementing T3/T4/NDT is the worst, but thiamine have the same effect to some degree.

I have wondered about this. Ramping up metabolism can be a double edged sword, it seems.

Oh. I wasn’t recommending metabolic uncouplers (thyroid, caffeine, etc.) because that would obviously be unhealthy given your current state. So you don’t think you have any nutrient deficiencies? (biotin, niacinamide, copper, ascorbic acid, glycine, etc.) Have you tried eating liver?

I do have nutrient deficiencies. My body reacts to these nutrients in the same way it reacts to metabolic uncouplers, despite being deficient. I'm eating liver twice a month. -
Well, maybe it has nothing to do with nutrition. You might wanna get tested for toxic metals… mine is off the charts, so that can explain my issues

@winters I do suspect lead poisoning. What kind of test did you do? Testing for heavy metals is tricky, as the metals seems to be very selective in where they accumulate, and might not be detectable in blood. Is hair test reliable?
