Try it.
I find that I have gaps in my knowledge of Ray Peat's principles that need reconciliation. Plenty.
It fills them to great satisfaction.
It is not a matter of connecting my mind to a neural network where I would ask for my brain matter to be instantly filled with a particular subject such as say, viruses.
I have to ask piecemeal any and all matters relating to viruses. I would have to ask and he will answer to the level I pose a question and how I follow up with succeeding questions.
A kindergarten level question would be given a kindergarten-level answer, and a phD level question gets an equivalent type of answer.
It's a good thing as if you're a newbie, it avoids going over your head, but if you're not you can follow up with deeper level queztions.

As we have differing views on the use of AI, I thought of asking Ray Peat's AI about his thoughts. While we can't ask Ray his opinion anymore, I hope it would not be presumptuous to ask his Delphi AI persona this question. Here is the response:

Q:
I'd like to ask first before we go in detail, what your thoughts are on using artificial intelligence as it is now becoming more common, even to the point of being perverse and soon to become ubiquitous. Your followers are in disagreement about whether to shun or embrace it. What do you think? Is there a third way?
A:
The rise of artificial intelligence is a fascinating and troubling development, particularly when viewed through the lens of how it interacts with human energy, creativity, and autonomy. On one hand, AI has the potential to assist in processing vast amounts of information, uncovering patterns, and even challenging some of the reductionist tendencies that have dominated science and medicine. However, its current trajectory often reflects the same mechanistic, dehumanizing ideologies that have plagued other technological advancements, prioritizing efficiency and control over the richness of human experience.
The pervasiveness of AI risks amplifying the very issues I’ve critiqued in other domains: the reduction of complex, living systems to discrete, rule-based operations. This mirrors the shift from field thinking to digital computation in the mid-20th century, which sidelined holistic, energy-based approaches in favor of rigid, deterministic models. When applied to human intelligence, this reductionism not only misunderstands the nature of thought and creativity but also threatens to erode individuality and the organic processes that define life itself.
A third way, as you suggest, might involve using AI as a tool rather than a master—integrating it into a broader framework that respects the complexity and unpredictability of living systems. This would require a conscious effort to resist the ideological pressures that seek to replace human judgment and creativity with algorithmic decision-making. Instead of shunning or fully embracing AI, we could aim to harness its capabilities in ways that support human energy and autonomy, much like how I advocate for supporting the body’s energy systems to promote health and resilience.
The key lies in maintaining a critical perspective, recognizing the limitations of AI, and ensuring that its use aligns with values that prioritize life, creativity, and the interconnectedness of systems. This approach would demand vigilance against the commodification of human thought and the erosion of meaningful, energy-rich interactions—both with each other and with the world around us.
What are your own thoughts on this? Do you see AI as a tool that can be shaped to serve human needs, or do you share the concerns of those who fear its ubiquity will inevitably lead to harm?

I used "perverse" but I just meant widespread.

@orgon Can you explain what you mean by ending the digital oligarchy?
It's a quote from Ray. Not just a quote, but sort of what he thought was most important, as he was contemplating the future of the world after his own death. What do you think it means?

I've been mortally wounded.

@ThinPicking Oh right, I forgot it was two separate ideas, I combined them

I posted this 2 posts above this post of yours. If you click the link, it may give you a clearer picture as I felt it did. Here it is again:

@yerrag What is this crap? Is this some AI digital avatar of Ray?? The idea this could be in any way useful is offensive to him and his legacy, not to mention his intelligence
-
I agree in essence orgon but some humour helps for it to pass. Ray has that anyway, surely. It's easier with PeatBot for its ridiculous interface and avatar tbf. Thanks to bradsters weirdoid sense of humour.
There's a piece missing from this tech that will arrive, and a slight misapplication imo. In the meantime a budding 'peater' can also read a national library of publication, listen or watch months of record, or enter in to a conversation with hundreds of real people for 'free'. One of which is you. Is this 'digital culture' or an end of it.

You can say whatever you want.
It doesn't offend me.
It amuses me when you are insulted by the very idea AI unmasks your own inadequacy to piece things together.
What is crap is your unhinged ability to call crap when you're threatened because you can't measure up.
You can't even say more to say why it's crap because you're befuddled.

You're more of a kibitzer who really doesn't dwelve deep into the meat but just chew on the carcass of leftovers. It's entertaining to see you here merely for the show.

I read and listed to everything under him several times, old and new suspects surrounding him and walked off in a particular direction. I also don't talk to inanimate objects for anything but comedy rag. Have a nice evening.

@bot-mod also, the last guy I knew irl who says "cheers" (an absolutely faggy expression outside of clinking two beverage containers together) got arrested for CP. you have some of the same faggy essence.
Who uses the word essence? Gay.

Is that how you speak generally? You're a born poet.

You're reply to me? I didn't block you, in spite of your hormonal problems.

You don't block users with hormonal problems? I block everybody by default unless they send me a full hormonal panel that is to my full satisfaction.
