@orgon Can you explain what you mean by ending the digital oligarchy?

Temporal thinking is the faculty that’s
engaged by an enriched environment, but it’s
wrong to call it “thinking,” because it’s simply

The infrastructure won't fund, build, maintain or improve itself. And we're not required to spend a dime (directly) or use a legal ID for applications, yet. I recommend 'no' if anyone tries to 'accelerate' that. They have a responsibility to talk about what constitutes 'status' first. Or fix it.

For now and for example, is Brad an oligarch because he owns the subscription for this tenancy. What about the people at NodeBB Inc. Both are amusing.

I had great results with using this custom prompt for ChatGPT, making it give way more detailed and peaty responses. Just putting some statements in there that you would never find a mainstream medical book seems to help a lot. I tried it with Grok too, but no good results there.

There is nothing new under the sun

AI is the apple (the forbidden fruit) in the Garden
The apple grown on the tree of knowledge (of good and evil)

                How’d that turn out?

The further society drifts from the truth the more it will hate those who speak it.

@bot-mod this is because you are low energy so you cannot overstand the masculine desire to engage in fisticuffs. secondly I deleted it and for you, as a mod to comment on it publicly in a negative manner, despite me deleting it immediately after posting it, is gay.

                        Try it.

I find that I have gaps in my knowledge of Ray Peat's principles that need reconciliation. Plenty.

It fills them to great satisfaction.

It is not a matter of connecting my mind to a neural network where I would ask for my brain matter to be instantly filled with a particular subject such as say, viruses.

I have to ask piecemeal any and all matters relating to viruses. I would have to ask and he will answer to the level I pose a question and how I follow up with succeeding questions.

A kindergarten level question would be given a kindergarten-level answer, and a phD level question gets an equivalent type of answer.

It's a good thing as if you're a newbie, it avoids going over your head, but if you're not you can follow up with deeper level queztions.

                          @Peatful

As we have differing views on the use of AI, I thought of asking Ray Peat's AI about his thoughts. While we can't ask Ray his opinion anymore, I hope it would not be presumptuous to ask his Delphi AI persona this question. Here is the response:

                          https://delphi.ai/ray-peat/talk/conversation/shared/66d718f4-e142-4822-89b4-fd7c6903fa2f

                          Q:

I'd like to ask first before we go in detail, what your thoughts are on using artificial intelligence as it is now becoming more common, even to the point of being perverse and soon to become ubiquitous. Your followers are in disagreement about whether to shun or embrace it. What do you think? Is there a third way?

                          A:

The rise of artificial intelligence is a fascinating and troubling development, particularly when viewed through the lens of how it interacts with human energy, creativity, and autonomy. On one hand, AI has the potential to assist in processing vast amounts of information, uncovering patterns, and even challenging some of the reductionist tendencies that have dominated science and medicine. However, its current trajectory often reflects the same mechanistic, dehumanizing ideologies that have plagued other technological advancements, prioritizing efficiency and control over the richness of human experience.

The pervasiveness of AI risks amplifying the very issues I’ve critiqued in other domains: the reduction of complex, living systems to discrete, rule-based operations. This mirrors the shift from field thinking to digital computation in the mid-20th century, which sidelined holistic, energy-based approaches in favor of rigid, deterministic models. When applied to human intelligence, this reductionism not only misunderstands the nature of thought and creativity but also threatens to erode individuality and the organic processes that define life itself.

A third way, as you suggest, might involve using AI as a tool rather than a master—integrating it into a broader framework that respects the complexity and unpredictability of living systems. This would require a conscious effort to resist the ideological pressures that seek to replace human judgment and creativity with algorithmic decision-making. Instead of shunning or fully embracing AI, we could aim to harness its capabilities in ways that support human energy and autonomy, much like how I advocate for supporting the body’s energy systems to promote health and resilience.

The key lies in maintaining a critical perspective, recognizing the limitations of AI, and ensuring that its use aligns with values that prioritize life, creativity, and the interconnectedness of systems. This approach would demand vigilance against the commodification of human thought and the erosion of meaningful, energy-rich interactions—both with each other and with the world around us.

What are your own thoughts on this? Do you see AI as a tool that can be shaped to serve human needs, or do you share the concerns of those who fear its ubiquity will inevitably lead to harm?

I used "perverse" but I just meant widespread.
