RE: Peaty tea recommendations
Da Hong Pao oolong and raw puer ("raw" as opposed to "ripe", which is shit) teas are delicious if youre looking to try something eastern, yunnansourcing is where Id buy all my chinese tea when I was into tea
for fancier teas for the "western" palate theres of course darjeeling, vahdam is the well known reliable brand
I hear Fortnum and Mason is quite good for standard english teas, but Ive personally never tried them
I used to drink Ahmad loose tea (all my recs are for loose tea btw, bagged tea is shit) as my cheap daily tea, I really liked their ceylon tea but they have a lot of varieties
I cant emphasise enough how much better loose tea is its not even comparable -
RE: How to get my libido through the roof
anything that increases dopamine signaling (and likewise lowers prolactin) will do the trick
landshark posted some anecdote about old men in nursing homes who would sexually harass all the nurses after taking bromocriptine
other ergolines, selegiline, adamantane-like drugs, would also do the trick
amphetamines also make people horny via dopamine but theyre very "draining", increase stress hormones too much, are neurotoxic, and just overall deleteriousI just started taking bromantane lately, an adamantane motif drug that upregulates tyrosine hydroxylase, and its been making me pretty horny

RE: proposal: like and dislike feature
no
a forum is a forum, its not twitter, its not reddit
its for medium length text where all posts are displayed on equal footing, where users are forced to read and consider posts by their own judgement, without the influence of the mob -
RE: Bug: Mobile site sidebar broken, sidebar refuses to close
@donovan nah, when it gets stuck nothing works other than refreshing

RE: Bug: Mobile site sidebar broken, sidebar refuses to close
Actually, after some testing, the bug doesnt seem to happen when I just click the hamburger icon outright, but when Im on a page and I swipe from the left of my screen to go to a previous page, which automatically opens the sidebar
a quick fix could be to disable opening the sidebar via a side swipe -
RE: what kind of chair do you guys sit in?
I have the same chair, I think its fine ergonomically except it now squeaks and creaks obnoxiously after a few years of owning it

Bug: Mobile site sidebar broken, sidebar refuses to close
Im on iphone 13 and every time I click on the hamburger icon the left sidebar gets stuck open and refuses to close, so I have to refresh the page to make it go away
I think the intended functionality is to be able to slide it closed, and this works with the right sidebar for some reason but usually does not work with the left sidebar (although Ive gotten it to work once randomly)
Basically, the sidebar is broken and can be easily fixed with a dedicated X exit button to collapse it -
RE: Bonemaxxxing
100mg of vitamina k2 mk4
are you insane
even the ultra high dose in that Japanese osteoporosis medicine is 45mg, and thats the highest dose Ive ever seen -
RE: Cold hands & feet – discuss causes & remedies
@pilky its usually adrenaline driven
Ive found a warm gelatinous broth will warm up my whole body and I can feel the warmth propagating to the very tips of my toes and fingers
as for soup, since Im lazy I'll usually just have a can of campbells beef and vegetable and add 2 tbsp of gelatin
or if I just want a warm beverage I'll heat up a mug of water with 2 tbsp of gelatin and a lot of honey, possibly some lemon -
RE: Glyphosate doesn't matter
@anabology if that's accurate, I suspect that since glyphosate is directly estrogenic, increased estrogen signalling over time would downregulate aromatase, all the while overall estrogenic effects are still higher than baseline

RE: Is High Dose Benadryl Peaty?
@NangaParbat 1st gen antihistamines (particularly cypro) are used as an antidote for serotonin syndrome, I dont see how it could cause it
-
RE: Is High Dose Benadryl Peaty?
I avoid benadryl after seeing the recent studies showing significantly increased risk of alzheimers even in moderate users
I realise these are epidemiological studies but still, if you need an antihistamine take cypro or maybe pizotifen instead -
RE: Glyphosate doesn't matter
the hundreds of studies demonstrating potent estrogenicity dont bother you?
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0278691513003633
These results indicated that low and environmentally relevant concentrations of glyphosate possessed estrogenic activity.

RE: Peaty migraine remedies?
Drinking lots of coca cola and taking niacinamide and b6, to start.
If its bad, I noticed that taking a little bit of metergoline (any ergoline dopamine agonist/serotonin antagonist should do) can make a migraine vanish instantly
Makes sense considering that migraines are largely serotonin driven, particularly at 5HT2 receptors. The most powerful anti-migraine drugs are all either direct 5HT2 receptor antagonists (particularly preventatives such as pizotifen, cyproheptadine, methysergide, etc) or indirectly via 5HT1 agonism, such as with triptans. Anyway, its well established even in mainstream medicine that serotonin drives migraines: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3451809/pdf/10194_2001_Article_8.pdfI suspect ergolines are most effective, but like I mentioned, anything that antagonises serotonin should work, cypro, pizotifen, other antihistamines that antagonise serotonin, mayyybe famotidine if youre in a pinch, not sure about that one
Of course, any problem involving serotonin starts in the gut, where most serotonin is produced and serotonergicity driven by endotoxin. So a diet that absorbs in the stomach and upper third of the intestine is important. And the usual remedies, carrot salad, oregano oil, antibiotics if you absolutely need it. -
RE: A combination of vitamin B1/B3/B7 and aspirin, has curative effects on human mantle-cell lymphoma
@haidut are there any plans to increase the sample size going forward? what would it cost to run a trial on say, 50 mice?
