@ah oh I wanted to add, I discovered this because I wanted an alternative to nanohydroxyapatite, since microscopic shards of nha possibly accumulate in organs and cause damage
cppacp is nontoxic

RE: The Dental Care Thread
new dental care alpha: GC Tooth Mousse
active ingredient is CPP-ACP (Recaldent), a complex formed from casein and calcium/phosphate ions in an ideal ratio to remineralise teeth
can allegedly remineralise white spot lesions, and early stage of tooth decay traditionally thought to be irreversible
Ive been using it this past week and my teeth feel stronger/less porous, seems good so far
some of the inactive ingredients arent great (titanium dioxide, guar gum) but if it works as well as people say Im willing to overlook them, plus you spit it out anyway youre not supposed to swallow
its also flouride free if thats a concern, although it should be used after brushing with flouride toothpaste for optimal results
just found out theres also Recaldent chewing gum, which might be worth looking into, in light of that study showing the efficacy of calcium/K2 gum -
To what extent has the decline in desserts contributed to malnutrition?
If you do a lot of baking, you'll know that almost every dessert contains sizable quantities of dairy and eggs.
As such I consider homemade desserts to be healthy due to the nutrients these ingredients provide, particular fat soluble vitamins, in combination with carbohydrates.
Everyone here also knows that desserts today replace butter with vegetable oil and eggs with other binders such as gums. These "replacements" are devoid of nutrients.
Clearly the consumption of "real" desserts has declined, but to what extent historically did desserts act as important supplemental source of nutriment?
Im curious what the average dessert consumption was a century ago versus today. Was it enough that it was an important source of nutrients? and is the lack of nutrients in modern desserts (as well as the malignment of desserts as "unhealthy") contributing to widespread undernourishment to a significant extent (say, 20% of daily fat soluble vitamin intake)?
I believe so. -
RE: The Dental Care Thread
recently I started chewing cloves, just chewing one or two at a time and swishing the bits around my mouth
Ill keep chewing/swishing until the saliva is too much and I have to spit it out
Its a very powerful antibiotic for the mouth, cleared up my white tongue and makes my teeth feel squeaky clean afterwards
I found it to uplift my mood and have a slight stimulatory effect as well
Some people might have objections to the eugenol in cloves but one or two cloves do not have enough to be dangerous in anyway but its just enough to be an effective antibiotic -
Coca Cola makes me insanely horny, does this happen to anyone else?
if I drink like 2-3+ cans of Coke I get uncontrollably horny, its kind of annoying because I want to be able to drink Coke without needing to launch a goon sesh

RE: A combination of vitamin B1/B3/B7 and aspirin, has curative effects on human mantle-cell lymphoma
I thought of a possible critique of this study design:
since these are human cancer cells being injected into mice, is it possible that their immune systems are simply fighting the cancer as if its an external pathogen whereas if the cancer was of the mice's own cells, their immune systems would not be fighting as hard against the cancer cells?
ie is it possible that the vitamin combination plus aspirin is simply bolstering the mice's immune systems instead of causing apoptosis via the restoration of OXPHOS?
Not saying I believe this to be the case, but I think trials in organisms whos cancer is induced in their own cells would be necessary to rule out the possibility completely. -
RE: What's the Peaty cure to phimosis??
kind of a weird topic but you can stretch it out over time basically the same way people restore their foreskin

RE: Low dose DNP
@metabolicmilk be careful
also be mindful that DNP causing cataracts is real, theres some nutrient that helps prevent DNP induced cataracts but I forget what it is, you can probably find it if you search for it
I imagine vitamin E would be helpful since its very helpful in preventing regular cataracts (which are largely caused by glycation byproducts iirc, which are ultimately driven by PUFA oxidation)
taurine is also good for preventing cataracts -

@haidut said in A combination of vitamin B1/B3/B7 and aspirin, has curative effects on human mantle-cell lymphoma:
one "standard of care" treatment
awesome
I'd love to see the "standard of care" proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be relatively ineffective versus B vitamins and aspirin, your work is very inspiring -
RE: Would you buy the 55 gallon (660 lb) honey drum?
Oh wait it gets better
3100 lbs
-
RE: What would your ideal peaty energy drink look like?
@brad mine would look the same but Id add b6 and b7 as well
also a little bit of quinine, maybe just slightly more than modern tonic water but not too much
methylene blue would be way too overkill I think, just take it seperately if you need it (shouldnt even be a daily supplement imo anyway)
I had considered aspirin in the past but I dont think thatd be great either -
RE: Rate my slop
why the doritos? everything else is perfectly fine
this must be bait -
Best magnesium supplement?
whats the best way to supplement magnesium? I bought some magnesium bisglycinate powder but the taste is so disgusting I cant stand it
Is magnesium carbonate more tolerable as a pure powder?
or is there a magnesium formulation you guys recommend? -
RE: Ice Cream Evening Chat
@aanon I think you could use organic valley half and half, its just milk and cream
I checked to see if their heavy cream has gums (it does) and every review on their website is 1 star complaining about the gums
people are starting to wake up lol: https://www.organicvalley.coop/products/cream/heavy-whipping-cream-ultra-pasteurized-pint/ -
RE: Ice Cream Evening Chat
made some vanilla with candied ginger bits last night but I only had half and half and 2% milk so its a little icy
tastes great though -

RE: Are zyns Peaty?
overall probably no since it does elevate cortisol and adrenaline, however it has a number of benefits
for one, it inhibits 3a-HSD, the enzyme which breaks down DHT, so it raises DHT significantly, and since DHT competitively inhibits aromatase, it also indirectly raises testosterone while lowering estrogen
the cortisol/adrenaline spike can be mitigated by consuming enough carbs and having a healthy liver
it also prevents neurodegenerative diseases such as alzheimersso considering how estrogenic the modern environment is, nicotine is a commonly available androgenic compound that can be an antidote to the estrogenicity of the modern world, so theres an argument that in our current environment its overall beneficial, while in an ideal environment it would be deleterious
as for zyn, it has gums which might promote bacterial overgrowth (although nicotine inhibits bacterial growth), I suspect the pouch also has micro plastics much like teabags
snus, which just uses pure tobacco, is better
I believe nicotine pouches (including snus) can also cause gum damage so be careful of that
nicotine toothpicks are probably safer
I personally prefer cigarettes and juul (not peaty)
