@AryanRaypEat I think the Twitter side of Peating in particular leans right because many of them heard of it from BAP or Landshark. Another factor is that a lot of the left supports veganism which is not really in line with Peat (ovo-lacto-vegetarianism can be pretty Peaty but that's not satisfactory to the animal rights types). Peat was critical of big pharma and while the left used to be, they have become more and more in line with mainstream medicine in terms of things like Covid, and vaccines in general.

RE: Why does Ray Peat stutter so hard?
@xkraltr Could it possibly be a consequence of becoming too hyperthyroid? I remember at one point after Peat died people were concerned for Danny Roddy because his voice started to sound eerily similar to Peat's. Also Peat's voice got much worse for a time after exposure to celery juice which is also supposed to affect the thyroid (he said it was because he was allergic to it).

RE: A combination of vitamin B1/B3/B7 and aspirin, has curative effects on human mantle-cell lymphoma
@haidut I hope you stick around. I see you started posting on RPF again after being unbanned. Which is fine, but I think we all see the writing on the wall for that place.
Good work on the study.

RE: Ray Peat was a Stalinist
I personally wouldn't call him a Stalinist even though he said positive things about Stalin and the Soviet Union, because it makes him seem like much more of a follower and disciple than he was. He said positive things about Jesus too, but I wouldn't say that makes him a Christian. He was also influenced by anarchists like Kropotkin, Tolstoy and Bookchin. He talked about how people could function without government in this interview:
https://web.archive.org/web/20190126100639/http://www.visionandacceptance.com/organizing-the-panic-an-interview-with-dr-ray-peat/I would rather not put a label on him, though, because he didn't label himself.

RE: are there downsides to drinking 1.5 liters of HFCS Coke per day?
@Chud It has no vitamins at all unlike orange juice. I think it is beneficial in small amounts, like one or maybe 2 cans or small bottles a day for most people. More if you work out and get enough nutrients from other sources. I wouldn't make it my major carb source.

RE: Is Ray Peat Legit? My thoughts:
@newmexico Peat was against beta carotene (in theory you are not supposed to be absorbing it from the carrot salad). He would have been 100% against carrot juice.

RE: High Metabolism Weight Loss
I think if you don't want to consciously restrict calories you at least need to consciously restrict fat (including saturated fat). Just eating as much sugar and saturated fat as you feel like is gonna lead to fat gain. Also Peat would tell people who were getting fat to eat less calories. Basically if eating the right foods does increase your metabolism and you start effortlessly losing fat, then at that time you can ramp up your eating. Eating huge amounts to try to boost your metabolism is putting the cart before the horse.

RE: Is High Dose Benadryl Peaty?
I think Peat said it was okay in normal doses but you shouldn't overrely on it. Overdosing or tripping on it wouldn't be good. It also has harmful excipients. It does lower histamine and serotonin which is good.

RE: 12 Eggs a Day + Carrot Juice Diet: From Kitchen to ICU
@newmexico I've heard of other people being sent to the hospital after overconsuming carrot juice before. Happened to Ashton Kutcher too, apparently.
https://www.delish.com/just-for-fun/a29267365/ashton-kutcher-carrot-juice-steve-jobs/12 eggs a day isn't really peaty because of the PUFA and so forth but it's not gonna hospitalize you.
