Getting my hearing back.

Is it possible to recover from hearing loss?
I have read that some people have gotten back their eyesight from peating.
My left ear has perfect hearing, but the right one is about 50%, so I am basically deaf on that one.
Too much music blasting and loud concerts, I guess. Over the years, it has wrecked my ear.

Pop music is a sin.
-
@Norwegian-Mugabe More of a rock and heavy metal kinda guy.
-
I'm a bit deaf from heavy metals. I'm REALLY curious about this as well. Also from blowing things up too close to my face.
-
I remember seeing a 1930s paper of injecting thyroxine into peoples' ears and a lot of the patients lowered their tinnitus and increased their hearing. I wouldn't know of a less invasive procedure though.

Improve blood flow to the ear to get more thyroid in?
I know eating chilli peppers makes it feel like blood is flowing to that area
Vit B1 also helps my hearing a LOT
-
@questforhealth Not sure about improving bloodflow as being directly regenerative, but I think a fren of mine had hydrogen peroxide put through his ear, and this large fibrotic mass was taken out, and he could hear much better. Clearing things out probably helps.
This is probably wrong, but I was thinking dissolving something in camphoric acid to bypass the liver and go through the lymphatic system, and maybe have an effect that way on the ears.

@Kilgore For me my tinnitus is sometimes relieved and it coincides with improved hearing in that ear. I was in a band for a while and I think that did damage. It can be alleviated, but very bad damage is hard to heal unless the circumstances are absolutely optimal. (amputated limbs, complete male baldness, many such examples)

@CO3 said in Getting my hearing back.:
tinnitus
If you have tinnitus I feel for you. I had it for 5 days and genuinely was on the verge of crying I couldn't take it. The worst part was waking up and for a moment thinking its gone but then it coming back. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Stopped wearing headphones and loud music right after. I think one loud "bang" from outside triggered it as I was sitting in my room.
It can be alleviated, but very bad damage is hard to heal unless the circumstances are absolutely optimal.
So a perfect optimal metabolism is the only way.
-
@Kilgore well I was saying there's likely no way to reverse it. You could say 'under optimal circumstances you can grow back eyeballs' but those optimal circumstances might mean using the most expensive substances, applying and ingesting pounds of progesterone, living at high altitude in Bhutan, getting massages every hour eating 2kg of the most expensive fruits on earth and never once have a single worry again
-
@CO3 Yeah that was my point as well. Basically recovering hearing is so far down the list the metabolism has to do that its impossible.
