Glucose loading cures everything?

I never had positive results from fruit. I had painful oral health, (teeth and gums) symptoms of liver issues, (need to eat frequently-poor glycogen stores, mood swings, waking at 2am) weight gain. I don’t know why, I’ve been “Peating” for almost 6 years now, but fruit just doesn’t provide the relief or satisfaction of dextrose.

During the 6ish years I’ve been incorporating Peats work I’ve had transient issues with inflammation and weight gain, (granted I was underweight when I found Peat’s work).

On the one hand I just want to say, keep doing what you're doing. Substituting fructose containing foods with dextrose. Because your stability, your health, your wellbeing are what matters in the immediate.

Only if you don't mind. I don't have answers, yet. Someone else might though.

@Peatful Eating sucrose isn't the same as glucose therapy. Sucrose can definitely cause BS spikes. And I've eaten sucrose for years but continued to decline. Glucose therapy is definitely not to be confused with regular sugar in high amounts (which I won't do).
I am stating that’s what I did and it worked for me
I listened to some of the YouTube interview you posted above, and I found him humble and quite precious
But he did call glucose and dextrose interchangeable
And I went about my healing with food only
No supplements
No protocols -

What are you talking about?
I tried dextrose, even 30g of it put me in a coma state, like eating junk food. Clear high blood sugar signs. 1L of coke doesn't give me that.
I have perfect (low end) Hba1c after years of sucrose consumption.
During my experimantion with dextrose i concluded that even rice could be better. -
@Razvan is it possible that you simply lowered stress hormones with the dextrose inducing the “coma” state you suggested?
Also, have you used a blood glucose monitor to check blood sugar? I believe the A1C is an average level, not an acute one right?
Just playing devils advocate. Of course I have no more information than anyone else, (especially regarding one’s own body).

@ThinPicking I always salt to taste. I keep a dish of salt next to my stove with 1/16 tsp in it and typically add 4-6 of those per meal, (so maybe a quarter tsp or so of added salt per meal. I use the pickling salt that Peat was fond of.

@Peatful Yes, dextrose is glucose. The glucose therapy is powerful whereas I never had any noticeably positive effects from sucrose...just weight gain.

Exactly this. It will calm all stress hormones right down. If you run on cortisol/adrenaline you might not feel very alert for a while taking glucose.

@S-Holmes Guys, i know how eating 700grams of carbs a day feels like and i know how it feels to have low stress and lay around after eating lots of honey, but this dextrose coma is paired with blurrier vision and weird coma state, not enjoyable.
2 friends of mine experienced the same. -
@Razvan How much dextrose were you taking and for how long? Did you have a consultation with Dr. Stephens?

For people that didn't experience the euphoria of sugar (low stress) metabolism that i experienced with stuff like mildronate paired with high carb, this dextrose feeling might make them think that the coma state I was talking about it's just low stress hormones, but if you have experienced both and also have experienced living off adrenaline you clearly know the difference beetween those 3, I might do a blood sugar test after the dextrose to be sure about it.
If your blood sugar is actually doing better i think it's a good sign, because since your body can't handle fructose, glucose metabolism is wrecked and giving the body the easiest and fastest form of glucose without the fructose might help you making you feel better so there is also this possibility, i'm just stating my experience. -
@Razvan So how much dextrose did you take and for how long?

@S-Holmes 3 days was enough for me, beetween 100 to 300 grams dextrose.

@Razvan Another possibility is a herxheimer reaction due to the brain healing. One of the first things that happpened to me on dextrose was swelling, and I'm still experiencing that in various parts of my body to a lesser degree. I've never experienced brain healing before so have no point of reference, but I do become sleepy after 3 or so doses of dextrose.
Dr. Stephens told me (email) you will experience a few "bumps" on the protocol. I'm waiting to hear back to schedule a consultation with him. Maybe I'll have a clearer picture of what's happening.

Thanks Evan. I'm not reducing what's going on here to this, but still...
That doesn't sound like very much to me and Jennifer is certainly right about this.
I agree that salted food tastes over-salted after a period of reduced salt intake.
In my experience if I'm lacking in it for a while, I have to slowly ramp up. Or resist a thirst response. And vice versa. If I overdo it. I have to slowly add water. And resist a salt taste. But the latter is very rare for me these days.
I consider Rays "salt to taste" line a cautionary. Because so many people in so many different states would pick up on it. Haidut and others posts on RPF were more useful to me in pushing the boat, so to speak. And finding out that more was better, for me.
