She went keto after being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes ate age 22. I know it's not a keto forum and I'm not trying to be provocative but the picture speaks for itself. AA1r6Gdl.jpg

Is there anyone on the planet that has ever looked better at 58? Please post a name or photo.

I heard he had plastic surgery :).

But seriously men tend to age a little better. Any women?

What does Salma eat? Just kidding. I really don't think you can reliably do this kind of thing from still images. Particularly of celebrities.

Fair enough. No one here could deny there are good looking people around who aren't doing things we might recognise as being pro-metabolic. And for all of us there's probably a trade off somewhere. Keto's probably not ideal for neurological performance but does eveyone really need it. I'd rather not most of the time.

In the end there's probably more to it than diet alone.

Using mice studies. Or cat studies. Or dog studies. Just because they reflect perfectly human metabolism?

                            Why look at photos?

What is her metabolic health like?

                            Granted she is on keto.

Does she have good memory? Is her brain as sharp as before? Does she remember her lines? Can she ad lib? You can't touch up the brain like you touch up the face.

Is she on any maintenance drugs?

Does she sleep well at night and have lots of energy throughout the day?

Is she moody and depressed and is good company you can enjoy spending time with?

Does she have stamina in physical activities? Does she do well in high elevation or will she be hard of breathing? Can she hold her breath long enough underwater? How long can she run before she feels sore?

Is she highly immune to respiratory diseases? Is she allergy- free?

What are the values of markers for inflammation? LDH, ESR, hsCRP. Enzymes such as ALT and AST. How soes her ECG lool like?

What is her temperature, heart rate, spO2 charted? What is her breath rate? What is her urine and saliva pH. At 3pm and 3am?

How does she hold up in between meals? Fasting overnight? Fasting for a day? Fasting for 3 days?

I refuse to read the article but I'm a little surprise she's not completed menopause yet.

There’s a quote from 2020 she’s been doing keto over 15 years. She intermittent fasts and just has bulletproof coffee in the AM. Works out 5 days a week. She’s physically fit, low body fat, and filthy rich. Also black don’t crack. Stephanie keto Person still looks relatively good at her age.

                                          2 big confounders:

1.) I question what keto means to her -- many people say "keto" and eat a ton of veggies and "low sugar" berries.
These are difficult digesters but some people have a great microbiome and this will provide glucose.

2.) she is living the life she wants to live -- it literally gives her life. Her job is literally working out an hour a day and eating good food and doing makeup/fashion for another media event.
Studies show men in positions of power produce higher testosterone and live longer. My grandpa had that Henry Kissinger great generation power dynamic vibe. driving himself alone in his car in his 90s. He lived doing what gave him life, from being upper management in military industry for 30 years, having a hobby farm, and rubbing shoulders with influential people. He died healthy with a full head of hair, and was never obese.
-- but nobody is saying fries and catfish fried in seed oils and carrageenan icecream is a high performance longevity diet. He could do more manual labor at 75 than I could do at the worst of my autoimmune issues in my 20s and I ate way cleaner...

tertiarily but it's been mentioned: higher skin tissue melatonin levels preserve calcium in the cell more efficiently, thus black don't crack.

Halle Berry, at 58, credits her youthful look to maintaining a strict keto diet for over 30 years, an approach she began after being diagnosed with diabetes in her teens. She shared that avoiding sugar, a common aging accelerant, has positively impacted her skin and overall health. Alongside the diet, Berry emphasizes regular exercise, prioritizing sleep, and staying hydrated as keys to aging gracefully. Her recent Instagram posts show her embracing her natural beauty, underscoring her belief that “less is more” as she advocates for health awareness among women, particularly on issues like menopause and diabetes management.
